Should I go for IILM Noida? I got 87 percentile in Feb Mat 2019. Please suggest best college in low budget with good return or placement.

Neha Mohanty 9th Mar, 2019

Hello Siddique,

Basically, you are asking for a good ROI I assume. Because nowadays, if you need "good" placements, you will have to invest a proportional amount, except for a few top-notch colleges like FMS or TISS. So I will help you out with "decent" placements where you do not need to burn a hole in your pocket for completing your post-graduation, but keep in mind that the placements are going to be of equivalent standard. So please do not expect something extremely good.

Coming to your question, you have to invest an amount close to 13 lacs for the fees. Average placement is reported to be 6-8 LPA. The reports are always inflated. So you can safely consider it to lie somewhere at a lesser slab. I would say it is decent.

At your score, you can apply to the below-mentioned colleges as they too give a decent placement.

  • XIME Bangalore
  • IIFM Bangalore
  • Christ University
  • Jaipuria
  • Kirloskar
  • FIIB Delhi
  • ISBM Pune

Please keep in mind that the fees might vary. It won't be the same as IILM. It can be lesser or more. So will the average package. If you find the fees exceeding 13 lacs and the average package decreasing below 6 lacs, kindly do not consider taking admission to that college.

Hope this helps.

With 633.50 score in mat, which institute will be offering the admission

Abhishek T R 18th Mar, 2019

Hi Krishna!

Congratulations on scoring well in MAT. At this score, many decent colleges open up and you can consider applying for the same. Since your category hasn't been mentioned, here's a list of colleges which have a cut off of 600 and you could consider applying. If you want to know further details about the placement scenario, please get in touch with the college alumni over LinkedIn and understand the inside story.

Here's a list you could consider-

Department of Management Studies, IIT, Madras

• Fee for 2 years: 7.11 lakhs

• IITM accepts scores above 600 in MAT. Though it's difficult converting the call, it all depends on how you perform in the PI_WAT. The placement offered is excellent going by the fees you pay, and since it comes with the IIT tag, it's worth giving your best shot at it.

• Average Salary: 11.5 LPA

Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship, Bangalore

• Fee for 2 years: 8 lakhs

• The name Xavier holds a heavyweight and thus this is something you could consider applying for. The placements have seen a rise and the opportunities offered here is immense. A decent GD-PI should seal you the seat here.

• Average Package: 6.7 LPA

TA Pai Management Institute, Manipal

• Fee for 2 years: 14 lakhs

• TAPMI features among the top b schools in the country and going by the name it has garnered over the years, it becomes a must-apply college with this MAT score. Even for CAT, it has around 85-90 percentile and that should explain a lot. They have different specializations and it's better that you know what you want to choose before you apply. Though the fees fall on the heavy side, the placements also have seen an improvement.

• Average Package: 11-12 lakhs

Management Development Institute (MDI) Murshidabad

• Course Fee: 8.73 lakh

• Another child of the top MDI group, this b-school has been turning popular in recent times and is most preferred by the ones who have missed the CAT score here. The infrastructure is pretty decent and going by the fees offered and comparing it to other colleges, the return on investment is okayish going by the brand.

• Average Package: 4-5 lakhs

National Institute of Technology, Warangal

• The name says it all. Another government institute that accepts MAT score. The fees is low and if you are really desperate to get an MBA this year, this could give a great ROI.

• Course Fee for 2 years: 1.82 lakhs

• Average Package: 4-5 lakhs

Good luck! Feel free to contact for further queries.
