IIM Indore Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test
Hey,
I won't say that's impossible but I won't suggest you go for it; reason being, that the syllabus for both of the examinations concerned has a rigorous curriculum and syllabus that needs utmost dedication and sincerity. I can break it down for you syllabus wise for better clarity.
For instance, your syllabus for IPMAT is divided into 3 sections namely-
1. Quantitative Ability- MCQ
2. Verbal Ability
3. Quantitative Ability- SA
For CLAT, the syllabus has been divided into the following categories:
1. General Knowledge and Current Affairs2.Mathematics with Numerical Ability
3. Mathematics with Numerical Ability
4. Legal Aptitude
5. Logical Reasoning
Though there are similarities in the syllabus on some levels where verbal ability and quantitative aptitude sections are present in the syllabus of both; it is important that you understand that both examinations very different on subject-matter level. IPMAT is an entrance exam for MBA, hence, it focuses on the analytical and management-focused knowledge, primarily whereas CLAT is an entrance exam for various law courses which is more focused on the rational-legal knowledge along with precision in logical reasoning.
Hence. going for both of them might hamper your overall preparation of both of the examinations.
Well, in case you still are willing to pursue the same, I'll suggest you go through previous year question papers for a better understanding of the pattern, that way you can be smart about learning and you might be able to manage your time for preparation for both of the exams.
Further, go for as many mock tests as you can, it will definitely help you in preparation of both since mock tests are for providing the student with a better understanding of question paper pattern and to familiarize with the content in concern.
I hope this helps you in making a better decision.
Good Luck!
Dear Rugved, IPMAT is for admission into 5 year Integrated Program in Management. This is a Management course where in you will learn subjects like Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Psychology, Humanities, Sociology, Political Science, etc. Whereas CA is a Professional course. While there is no specific stream that you need to study to be eligible for appearing for Foundation, Intermediate and Final, both these courses are Appkes and Oranges. Its like trying to sail on 2 ships at the same time. CA needs mandatory articleship and practixlcal training which means for those months you cannot attend your regular college. If you really want to becone a CA, instead of appearing for IPMAT and struggling to manage, you can pursue CA.
Hey
firstly its divided into three sections
Quantitative Ability- MCQ-- 40questions
Quantitative Ability- SA---20questions
Verbal Ability---40questions
Every correct answer will get 4 marks.
one mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer,Negative marking will not be applicable for Quantitative Ability- SA section.
coming to section cutoff I am explaining in terms of score (i.e after mutiplying it by 4)
QA (SA) ---OUT OF 20 QUESTIONS NO NEGATIVE MARK ..EXPECTED CUTOFF WOULD BE 24-26 MARKS ( 6 - 9 QUESTIONS)
QA ( MCQ)--- OUT OF 40 QUESTIONS ONE MARK NEGATIVE --- EXPECTED CUTOFF WOULD BE 20-22 MARKS
SO AROUND 40 MARKS IN QA WOULD BE EXPECTED CUTOFF BUT A GOOD SCORE NEEDS AROUND MORE THAN 100 MARKS
IN VERBAL --- AGAIN 40 QUESTIONS ...EXPECTED CUTOFF WOULD BE 100+ SCORE
SO OVER EXPECTED CUTOFF WOULD BE AROUND 140-150 MARKS
BUT GOOD SCORE WOULD BE AROUND 200-220 MARKS
HOPE U UNDERSTOOD
Hello Rugved,
Last year, the cutoff for NC-OBC category to clear IPMAT exam was 19.23.
The ideal scores that you need to achieve in each section would be -

These are the scores. The number of attempts has to be in line with this score.
The competition is fairly tough, so you need to prepare accordingly.
