manisha.gupta 22nd Oct, 2019

Hello Aspirant,

In order to prepare for IPMAT you can prefer ‘Crack the IIM Indore IPM Entrance Exam’, published by Pearson and written by IIM Lucknow Alumnus Nishit Sinha.

Along with this, you should also practice last year papers by setting the same time limit.

Good Luck!

Hello dear aspirant .

As of now IPMAT 2020 is having a age limit of 20 years. If you cross that limit you can't appear in the examination. One more important thing is that IPMAT has some reservation system . If you are from sc St category candidates then your limit will be 22 years.

Hope you get it.

Good luck.

Hiii harsh....

The Integrated Program in Management offered by IIM Indore is one of its kind. Right after your 12th class, it endows you to get admission into one of the most prestigious B-School of the country, i.e.,IIM-I and that too without appearing for a highly competitive exam such as CAT.

And as you have asked about the scope of IPM, It is very broad, just like that of the PGDM from any top IIM. OF COURSE, In the last 2 years of IPM, you are taught with the PGDM students. There are ample carreer opportunities, in sales, marketing, finance, banking, insurance, Civil Services....

Keep asking we are always looking for you to help.......

As known that for admission into IIM's IPM one has to go through A.T and a personal interview.

The Aptitude test consists of 2 parts. One that of quantitative aptitude and other being the verbal ability. For quantitative aptitute one can refer to the book Qbjective Arithmetic of R.S. Aggarwal, though this book is meant for the entrances of railway and other similar things but since the syllabus is quite the same so this book is helpful as well. Apart from this one has to completely solve NCERT Maths book for class XI and XII. As chapters like P&C, Binomial Theorem, Complex Number, Functions and Calculus are also included for the test.

For the verbal ability thing any good English book like that of Wren n Martin, Nesfield, R.S Aggarwal's verbal ability is good.

The Pearson guide is a good book as well which combines the Objective Arithmetic and Verbal ability in one but I think that one has to completely solve class XI and XII NCERT of Maths as well.

For the interview thing one has to be aware of all the General Knowledge thing. Reading newspaper , magazines is always helpful. One has to look upon his body language as well. Co curricular activities are always helpful.

Best wishes. Thank you.

does ipmat has sectional cut off? if yes then please tell about it and total marks which one should score to get a call of pi

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 3rd Oct, 2019
Dear Dhruv, IPMAT has sectional cut offs. IPMAT has 2 sections Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability. Now QA has 60 marks allotted and VA has 40 marks. Each correct answer gets you 4 marks and a wrong answer takes away 1 mark in the form of negative marking. Now the cut offs for the previous years for both sessions have been as follows:

Category          QA       VA        Min. Score     Max. Score
UR                  40        100          35.86            91.67
OBC-NC             24          64          19.23            63.69
SC                      16          48          10.35            51.56
ST                        8          24           4.07             40.93
PWD                    8          24           4.07             48.87

Though there has been no official release of any syllabus, based on examinations over the years, it has been concluded that few topics are the most covered,
QA:
Number system, LCM & HCF, Percentage, Quadratic Equations, Binomial Theorem, Functions, Mensuration, Permutation and Combination, Probability, Profit, Loss and Discounts, Simple and Compound Interest, Progressions, Ratio and Proportion, Mixtures and Alligations, Logarithms, Time, Speed and Distance, Time and Work, Trigonometry, Geometery, Problems on Ages, Series and Unitary Method, Set Theory, Data Interpretation and Equations.
VA:
Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, Grammar, Sentence Rearrangement, Sentence Correction, Sentence Completion, Correct Usage of words and phrases and verbal analogies.

How should I prepare for IPMAT for IIM-I? Im in Grade 12.

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 1st Oct, 2019
Dear Sushim, IPMAT has 2 sections Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability. Now QA has 60 marks allotted and VA has 40 marks. Each correct answer gets you 4 marks and a wrong answer takes away 1 mark in the form of negative marking. Though there has been no official release of any syllabus, based on examinations over the years, it has been concluded that few topics are the most covered,

VA:

Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, Grammar, Sentence Rearrangement, Sentence Correction, Sentence Completion, Correct Usage of words and phrases and verbal analogies.

Preparation for QA:

Because this section involves mathematics and takes most of your time, your focus should be on solving the problems efficiently in the beginning. Even if it takes time, practise upto perfection. Practise as many questions as you can in the conventional way. As and when you get a grip on the subject, you can go for short cuts. Memorise tables, square roots, cube roots, conversion from percent to fraction, etc. Solve sample papers on Mathematics. In the beginning, do not worry about the time it takes. As you practise, you will get the hang of the subject and it will be easier for you.

Preparation for VA:

Read articles from time to time. Follow newspapers, magazines, and watch the news channels and browse the internet to keep yourself updated. You will need a lot of reading to help you in the comprehension section. You will need speed to help you in this section and you can achieve that only by thorough practise and reading. Take time to understand the question because most answers are interlinked.
