It differs from person to person while personally i say is better go for coaching because in couching you'll get wider and easier ways to crack exam but self study is quite hard

Yes with 90 + in CAT you can get into NITIE, also try in some other colleges u might even get a better college.

As your academic performance is average.You need minimum 98ile in CAT exam in order to get a call from any IIMS.
I am a student too.. And i didnt find any channel forCAT exam preperation..So its better to stop searching for channel and try to solve mock tests and previous years paper...And i would suggest you to solve Arun Sharma level 3 questions..For english read english newspaper and novels..

It is not at all a problem. If you clear CAT examination and get calls from colleges, they might possibly ask you about the gap in interviews. You can be honest about the same in your answers and tell the real reason.
