MAT score 69.82%, what is the cut off for IISWBM, Kolkata

Akshat Shah 30th May, 2019
Hii..
Last Year MAT cutoff Of IISWBM was 600 marks.
Although the cutoff may be vary year To year. But this would be general Cutoff for admission in IISWBM.You can keep this score in mind.
I think Your score is lower Thn the Last year Cutoff..I can predict that from your Percentile.so Your chance is Bit lower To get in to That college.
Best of luck
Thank You

i get the score in mat exam is 34.32%,can i take admission here?please suggest me

Akshat Shah 30th May, 2019
Minimum of 500+ score in MAT is tentatively the cut-off, I think at this percentile your score is Too low then That so Your chances Are very slim.
although it can vary year on year.
Candidates will be shortlisted for group discussion (GD) and personal interview (PI) on the basis of their application form.
ii) The final selection will be based on the candidates performance in GD & PI, past academic record and test scores in CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA or GMAT.

How many questions to attempt for scoring 500+ marks in mat may 2019 out of 800 and how much negative marking scheme is there.

Harshali Kharole 19th Apr, 2019

Hello Shiva,

Percentage is not calculated in MAT instead the score is calculated in percentiles. To get good percentile, you must attempt the questions with accuracy of 7 correct for every 10 questions. The duration of the exam is 2 hours 30 mins and there are 200 objective question. This means you need to solve each question in 0.75mins. For every correct answer, you are awarded 1 mark and for every wrong answer 0.25 marks are deducted. This implies that 1 mark would be deducted, if four questions are wrong. The score is a composite score and hence is calculated from 800. You need to score above 600 to get approximately 95-99 percentile, referring this you can attempt 150-170 questions to score around 500 marks. 200 questions are divided into five sections namely, Critical Reasoning, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Language Comprehension, Indian and Global Environment and Mathematical Skills. You need to start with the section that you are most acquainted with, so that solving those questions will take less time. In this way, you can spend more time on weaker sections or sections that you are not much familiar with.

Hope the information is useful to you.

All the best..!!!

IIM Rohtak accept MAT score? I hv scored 72%ile in MAT May 56% in graduation 88.4% in 12 8.4 CGPA in 10th Am I eligible ?

Arnab Ghosh 29th May, 2019
Hi Ritesh,
IIM'S only accept CAT & GMAT score. So if you take to take admission in IIM Rothak, you have to take CAT & score atleast 95 percentile to get a call from IIM Rothak. Also there is a sectional cutoff, which is 80 percentile.

Otherwise all your academics marks are OK.

Hello! So, I am getting calls from XIME Chennai, Kochi, IPE Hyderabad, etc. based on my MAT - May 2019 score. Should I go for any of these?

ym.matlani_6504227 Student Expert 29th May, 2019

Dear PD,

If you can wait and feel that you can perform better than your last attempt in CAT then I would suggest you should start working so that you can show some work experience. Interviewers don't like students who take gap year just to prepare for CAT entrance exam since CAT is an aptitude test, not an exam which requires the learning of facts and figures, unlike JEE or NEET and then you should write CAT exam in the coming November. No offence to these colleges but you will spend around 12-15 lakh and you won't get the placement of more than 6 lakh per annum from this college provided if you are in top 10% of your batch. A graduate who studied from a mediocre college earns between 3-4 lakh per annum so do you feel that a jump from 4 lakh to 6 lakh per annum with so much of investment is worth it? If you feel that you can work harder than before and can score percentile of at least 88 then only take a drop. If you don't feel that you can get a percentile around 90 in CAT then don't take a drop because even if you start with a low package, if you work hard then you can get better.

My composite may mat score is 680 with 90 percentile. What weightage are GD and PI in christ university in selection process?

Arushi 29th May, 2019

Hi Vignesh,

GD consists for 35 minutes for each group of 15 candidates and macro presentation for 90 secs/ student in the group. After this candidates will be given to write an article on A4 size sheet for which they will be given 10 min. This whole process  consisit of 30 percent weightage as a selection criteria.

I hope I have cleared your doubt. Wish you good luck.
