Common Admission Test
Hello Aspirant,
Yes, you can sit for the CAT exam with a CGPA of 8.5. However when you do crack the CAT exam and have to sit for the interview round or the Group discussion round, you will be asked the question about 4 years of graduation, in which case, carry your hospital records and medical certificates to prove to them that you actually had some health issues during your graduation. This shouldn't be a problem because you had a genuine reason for the one-year gap.
Hello Aspirant
The ideal time to start preparing for the CAT exam is during your second year of BMS.
Here's why:
The ideal time to start preparing for CAT is now, you will get plenty of time but concerning your course, here's a suggestion
Hope this helps
With a 1000 rank in IPU CET BJMC and being from outside Delhi (General category), your chances for top colleges like VIPS and MAIT are slightly slim as these seats are highly competitive. However, you still have a fair chance at good colleges within IP University. Your 96%+ in boards strengthens your profile for admission. It’s recommended to participate actively in the counseling process and keep backup options ready.

With a CML rank of 4289 and CAT rank of 963 in the BC-2 category, your chances of getting admission to UCET Hazaribagh depend on several factors like the branch you choose and the cutoff for that year. UCET Hazaribagh typically has varying cutoff ranks for different engineering branches, and it is considered one of the more accessible colleges for students from Jharkhand. The exact cutoff may fluctuate annually, so checking with their official site or consulting their admission office will give you a clearer picture.

With a JCECE CML rank of 4009 and a CAT rank of 963, getting admission to the CSE branch at UCET Hazaribagh might be a bit challenging due to the competitive nature of CSE cutoffs. However, your CAT rank is relatively good, which could improve your chances of securing a seat, especially if there are reservations or category-based relaxation. It's advisable to check UCET Hazaribagh’s previous year cutoffs and consider applying for other branches if CSE seems competitive.

Hello,
Getting admission to an IIM without taking the CAT is possible through alternative routes such as:
1. Executive MBA (PGPX,EPGP,ect .) : Many IIMs offer Executive MBA programs for experienced professionals, which may require GMAT scores instead of CAT .
2.Integrated programs: Some IIMs offer integrated programs like IPM (Integrated Program in Management), where admission cab be based on entrance exams other than CAT.
3.Doctoral programs (Ph.D.): Some IIMs accept GMAT/GRE scores for their doctoral programs .
4. Specialized Courses: IIMs offer various short-term and ccertificate programs that don't require CAT scores.
Check the specific IIM websites for detailed admission criteria and processes for these programs .
With a rank of 27,000 in VITEEE, it may be difficult to secure admission into the Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) or VLSI Design branches in VIT Chennai under Category 2 or Category 1. Typically, these branches have higher demand and competitive cutoffs. The VITEEE cutoffs for top branches tend to be lower for Category 2, but securing a spot in ECE or VLSI Design with your rank seems challenging. For further details, you can check the official VIT Chennai admission page.

Hi aspirant,
You do not need to take any additional examinations before or after the CAT if your primary goal is to get into IIMs and other elite business schools that only or primarily accept CAT results .
However, it is highly recommended that you take additional MBA entrance tests in India.
These include popular national-level tests such as XAT ( for XLRI and other top institutes ), NMAT ( for NMIMS and others , with multiple attempts allowed ), SNAP ( for Symbiosis institutes ), CMAT ( accepted by many AICTE-approved colleges ), and MAT ( conducted multiple times a year and accepted by a wide range of business schools ). There are additional state-level exams, such as the MAH CET , for colleges in Maharashtra .
All the best!
With a VITEEE rank of 10,798, it is unlikely that you will secure a Computer Science Engineering (CSE) seat under Category 1 at any VIT campus, including VIT Vellore or VIT Chennai. Based on past trends, CSE seats in Category 1 close by around the 8,000-9,000 range at VIT Chennai. However, you may still have a chance in Category 2 or higher categories, where cutoffs extend up to around 14,000 for CSE. It would be best to explore these options during counseling.
