i got 89.27 percentile in CAT. but my Sectional percentiles are 32.46, 95.78, 97.01 in vocab, Reasoning and quant resp. In which college should i apply??

Yash 28th Sep, 2024

Hi!

Congratulations on securing 89.27 percentile in CAT. As stated, 89.27 is a good score but you will not able to apply for many of the good colleges as these colleges consider sectional cutoffs as one of the major components while shortlisting candidates for the GDPI process and for the final selection. 32.46 percentile in VARC section is below par score and will not fetch you a call from many of the business schools despite having a good overall percentile. As you have not mentioned your category, I am assuming that you belong to the general category (If you belong to the reserved category, you might get an Interview call from some of the colleges depending upon their selection criteria).

Therefore, I will suggest you to for the business schools which do not give consideration to the sectional percentile and emphasize on the overall percentile. Some of the good business schools that you can target based on your overall CAT percentile are given below:

  • IMT Ghaziabad
  • Goa Institute of Management
  • Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai
  • IMI Delhi
  • TAPMI Manipal

The list given above is non-exhaustive, candidates can get to know about all the colleges having no sectional CAT cutoffs .

Question : Directions: In the given question, select the related letter cluster from the given alternatives.
CAT : DDY :: BIG : ?

Option 1: CLL

Option 2: CLM

Option 3: CML

Option 4: CEP

Team Careers360 24th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: CLL

Solution : Given:
CAT : DDY :: BIG : ?

Add consecutive odd numbers to the place value of each letter of CAT to obtain the required code –
C + 1 = D; A + 3 = D; T + 5 = Y
Thus, CAT is coded as DDY.
Similarly, follow the same pattern for BIG –
B + 1 = C; I + 3 = L; G + 5 = L

Thus, BIG is coded as CLL. Hence, the first option is correct.

Question : Select the option that expresses the given sentence in active voice.

The poor cat was brutally chased by the kids.

Option 1: The kids brutally chase the poor cat.

Option 2: The kids did brutally chased the poor cat.

Option 3: The kids were brutally chasing the poor cat.

Option 4: The kids brutally chased the poor cat.

Team Careers360 21st Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: The kids brutally chased the poor cat.

Solution : The correct choice is the fourth option.

Active voice emphasises the doer of the action, while passive voice emphasises the receiver. To convert passive to active, we make the subject perform the action and rephrase the verb.

The structure of the active voice in the case of the simple past tense is: "Subject + adverb + past form of the verb + singular object."

Therefore, the correct answer is: "The kids brutally chased the poor cat."
