Got 649 composite score in MAT which colleges can i apply for mba?

Abhishek T R 14th Mar, 2019

Hi Akash!

Congratulations on scoring such a good score in MAT 2019. At this level, it is quite possible to secure calls from most of the top B schools in the country. Of course, IIMs and most IITs don't accept MAT score and it mostly covers the private institutions, but at this level, you have a great chance to get into a PGDM or an MBA course in a top institution. The following are some of the colleges you can consider to apply for-

Department of Management Studies, IIT, Madras

• Fee for 2 years: 7.11 lakhs

• IITM accepts scores above 600 in MAT. Though it's difficult converting the call, it all depends on how you perform in the PI_WAT. The placement offered is excellent going by the fees you pay, and since it comes with the IIT tag, it's worth giving your best shot at it.

• Average Salary: 11.5 LPA

Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship, Bangalore

• Fee for 2 years: 8 lakhs

• The name Xavier holds a heavyweight and thus this is something you could consider applying for. The placements have seen a rise and the opportunities offered here is immense. A decent GD-PI should seal you the seat here.

• Average Package: 6.7 LPA

TA Pai Management Institute, Manipal

• Fee for 2 years: 14 lakhs

• TAPMI features among the top b schools in the country and going by the name it has garnered over the years, it becomes a must-apply college with this MAT score. Even for CAT, it has around 85-90 percentile and that should explain a lot. They have different specializations and it's better that you know what you want to choose before you apply. Though the fees fall on the heavy side, the placements also have seen an improvement.

• Average Package: 11-12 lakhs

Management Development Institute (MDI) Murshidabad

• Course Fee: 8.73 lakh

• Another child of the top MDI group, this b-school has been turning popular in recent times and is most preferred by the ones who have missed the CAT score here. The infrastructure is pretty decent and going by the fees offered and comparing it to other colleges, the return on investment is okayish going by the brand.

• Average Package: 4-5 lakhs

National Institute of Technology, Warangal

• The name says it all. Another government institute that accepts MAT score. The fees is low and if you are really desperate to get an MBA this year, this could give a great ROI.

• Course Fee for 2 years: 1.82 lakhs

• Average Package: 4-5 lakhs

That being said, if you have splendid acads and have the liberty to attempt for CAT next year, it would be wise to give it a shot.

Good luck. Feel free to contact for further queries.

Please suggest me some low fees mba colleges accepting MAT score.

daduz333 14th Mar, 2019

Hello,

If you are joining in the lowest fee college, Some cases you have to compromise on Placements, faculties, and infrastructure. But you can study at low fees if you are scoring good marks in entrance tests or based on academic achievements. Before joining into any Institute/University you must have to check these parameters, Parameters are 1) Placements 2) Faculties and 3) Infrastructure.

Universities like Lovely Professional University are conducting a scholarship test for the students. This will helps apt students to get the scholarship based on their performance. Last year my friend joined here for MBA, he availed a scholarship. So like this, you can choose any university/institute proving scholarship for right candidates, this will helps you to join in reputed colleges at a low fee.

Hope this information will help you. Best Wishes.

Good Luck!

If I give the MAT exam in may 2019, how many colleges accept it for admission for the year 2019 itself?

daduz333 14th Mar, 2019

Hello Anand,

You can apply in any colleges based on their seat availability. But most of the institutes will start their academic session in Jun. So try for the admissions once the MAT results came . You must check three parameters before joining any institution; the parameters are a) Placement, b) Faculty and c) infrastructure. I can suggest some colleges because my friends and cousins are either studying there or have passed out.

Amity University - Amity is one of the top private university in India, their placement and faculties are good. Recent year highest package was 18 LPA.

Lovely Professional University - One of my friends is passed out from here in 2016, now he is working with an MNC as a state head of their sales. Their last year placement also good, the highest package was 21 LPA.  Recently Amazon hired few students at a  package of 28 LPA. Fortunately, I have the link so sharing with you. ( https://www.ndtv.com/education/amazon-offers-28-lakh-annual-package-to-two-lpu-students-for-their-ai-skills-1998902 )

You can read it yourself for a better understanding. LPU has its own test, LPUNEST (National Entrance and Scholarship Test) and this may help you to get scholarship also if you are scoring well.

Christ University - This university one of the best university in Bangalore. Considering your MAT score chances are less to get here.  But you can apply here if you have luck you can get admission.

XIME & VIT - These institutes are also good for management studies. Providing good placements and Infrastructure. Maybe here also the MAT score will be an issue. But you are securing a good score in their test then the possibility is high.

Hope this information will help you. Best wishes.

Good Luck!

daduz333 14th Mar, 2019

Hello,

As considering your composite mark you have got a decent score, but the percentile is comparatively less. You must check three parameters before joining any institution; the parameters are a) Placement, b) Faculty and c) infrastructure. Arushi 22nd Apr, 2019

Hi Shiva,

yes both the colleges will accept both ATMA and MAT score for admission purpose. There is no such specific requirement for the colleges. I would suggest you if you are targeting colleges through MAT and ATMA then target better management colleges like Bim tech college greater noida or Christ college Bangalore.

I hope this will you. wish you good luck.
