GMAT or the Graduate Management Admission Test is the international test conducted by the Graduate Management Admission Council for the admission in B-schools across India and abroad. GMAT Important Dates: GMAT is conducted throughout the year and you can book your appointment at a test center of your convenience. The result is also available on the exam day itself. A candidate is allowed to take five GMAT in a year, eight in lifetime. There should be at least 16 days gap in between two GMAT attempts.
GMAT Eligibility: The candidates appearing for GMAT should be graduates or completed Bachelor's Degree from a recognised institute or university. Apart from that, there are no particular eligibility criteria for the exam.
GMAT Application Procedure: The application procedure for GMAT is completely online. The candidates have to visit the official website of GMAT to apply online. They have to schedule their test on a convenient date and time at a designated test center. The application fee is USD 250.
GMAT Exam Pattern: GMAT is a Computer Adaptive Test of 3 hours 30 minutes. The questions are both objective and subjective in nature. There are four sections, namely Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning and Verbal Reasoning. The total number of objective type questions is 90 and the subjective question is one. Total score range is 200 to 800. Each section is time bound.
GMAT Selection Process: After the test is over, the candidates will get their scores. GMAT scores are valid for five years. They candidates can apply to the B-schools in India based on the cutoff. The final selection will be made on the basis of various procedures like Group Discussion, Essay Writing, Personal Interview, Statement of Purpose, Letters of Recommendation etc.
GMAT Result: The result is available after few hours of the test. In case the candidate accepts the scores, it will be sent to the candidate as well as the B-schools. In case the candidate declines the scores, it will not be visible to anyone.

Hello, i have a cgpa of 8.2 in 10th, 68% in 12th and 57% in graduation along with 20 weeks of internsips during graduation and i am planning to take GMAT to try and score 700+ in it. Will i then be eligible for SP Jain PGDM programme?
According to your academic scores you need to have an excellent score in either XAT, GMAT or CAT. And to be eligible for admission you need to score at least 650+ in GMAT. And for GMAT, you should score at east 750-760 marks to compensate your previous records and get a call for PGDM further admission process.

Since you are in B.Tech 3rd year now, so i think this is the right time for you to start your Preparation for CAt. You have one year for preparation at this stage of time. To start with I'll recommend you to brush up your basic knowledge of Mathematics. Since you are a Btech student you won't face much difficulty in Quants section if you devote some time for practice regulary. For Verbal section, I'll suggest you to start reading novels, newspaper etc. as much as possible, This will increase your reading speed and improve your vocabulary. Solve past year questions for DILR practice. I'll suggest you to buy test series from some coaching institute for practice. CAT examination is all about practice and your command on subject. If you know the concepts and is good at english then you have high chances of cracking cat.

The type of exam should you give depends on the University you're looking for and also the course.
SAT or ACT is basically for Undergraduate courses while GRE and GMAT is for Postgraduate courses. TOEFL and IELTS are basically English Proficiency tests. They are given by the candidates whose native language is not English, it too varies according to the university. Every university has it's different criteria but if you're looking for Undergraduate course then you should give SAT as it is accepted by many universities and the language exam based on what the university is accepting.

see by gmat score you may apply for indian colleges for pgdm admission, however most of the tier 1 institute have executives program based on gmat score where work experience is necessary, however some of the top institute you may go for,
