SPJIMR PGDM Batch Profile Comparative Analysis: Class 2014 and 2015
SPJIMR or S P Jain Institute of Management and Research Mumbai conducted the orientation program for the PGDM batch 2013-15. Compared to last year, there is a rise in the number of intakes and the diversity factor, including the work experience, male female ratio, education backgrounds etc. The number of intakes for this 2013 is 234 while that of 2012 was 227.
Let us now have a look at the comparison of the various factors of PGDM 2013-15 and PGDM 2012-14.
While the majority students belong to engineering background, the next highest category is Commerce. The diversity in the education backgrounds ranges from Science, Arts, BBA, BBS, Architecture and MBBS. There is 1 student each from the BBA, Architecture and MBBS backgrounds.
In terms of the diversity of the backgrounds, the 2012-14 batch had more variants in terms of the education backgrounds. The backgrounds which are not present in the 2013-15 batch are BMS, BCA and Fashion Tech. Like this year, PGDM 2012-14 batch also had majority students in the Engineering (85%) background followed by Commerce (5.30%), Arts (3.10%) and Science (2.20%).
Male candidates dominate the class by comprising around 60% and female candidates constitute of 40.20%.
The gender diversity of PGDM 2012-14 was also similar as the current batch. However, the percentage of male students is higher in the PGDM 2013-15 batch.
The highest work experience category in PGDM 2013-15 batch is 2 to 3 years followed by 1 to 2 years followed by freshers, which is 9.80%. The lowest is above 3 years which is 7.70%.
The maximum work experience of the candidates is in the range of 1 to 2 years, which is 38.80%. This is followed by students with work experience 2 to 3 years (33.90%). The next category consisted of freshers (12.30%) followed by 8.40% students who have work experience up to 1 year. The lowest percentage of work experience is above 3 years, same as the current batch.
In terms of regional or geographical diversity, the PGDM 2013-15 is more varied as it has students from more number of states in India. Maharashtra is the major contributor in terms of the number of students with 22.65% for PGDM 2013-15 and 25.86% for PGDM 2012-14 batch.
The next big contributor is Delhi with 13.68% students if PGDM 2013-15 and 12.50% students in PGDM 2012-14. Delhi is followed by Karnataka with 13.25% (PGDM 2013-15) and 10.34% students (PGDM 2012-14) respectively.
The other states from which the students of PGDM 2013-15 and PGDM 2012-14 are from Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan etc. The other states which have minor contributions in the classes include Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Kerala, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand etc.

Hope you are doing good, yes you can get in SP jain without giving CAT exams but you have to appear in GMAT exam because SP jain accepts only GMAT or CAT exams so you have to appear in one of them. No you can't get in SP jain on the basis of academic result.

Sir i have 88.60% in 10 th , 89.86 % in 12 th and 80% in graduation then what percentile did i required to get in old iims or in top mba colleges like FMS ,Sp jain etc
Your academics are pretty low to target old IIMs to be very honest. You need to target at least 99% percentile so as to be considered for the interview of old IIMs. That's too not a surety.
Different colleges have different criteria according to which they prepare an Index score for each candidate. And the students securing above the index score are selected for the interview round.
Try to to score as high as possible. Anything below 99 percentile would make it difficult for you.
