The Indian Institute of Management Lucknow has concluded its summer placemen process for the students of post graduate programme in sustainable management. Overall 17 students received offers from 9 organisations spanning across conglomerates and other sectors.

Inaugurated in June 2015, the first batch of PGPSM has 19 students with an average work experience of 4.5 years. For the summer placements, companies in the field of sustainability, energy, environment, urban issues, smart cities, CSR and related topics visited the campus.

The companies that visited the process across sectors were, conglomerates like Mahindra, Tata Sustainability Group, Wipro, some energy sector companies, developmental foundations like Azim Premji Foundation, and Fortis Hospitals Group, sustainability and policy think-thanks like Wipro Earthian-CSTEP, and start-ups like Valluri Technology Accelerators, and Sweep Enviro.

2 students opted out of the placement process to pursue their alternate career interests. The roles on offer included roles on varied sustainability & CSR related aspects, smart cities, energy & policy analysis, and environment and waste management.

Professor Kalyan Bhaskar, the Faculty Coordinator for PGP-SM placements said, “It is extremely heartening and exciting to see the industry response to the inaugural batch of PGP-SM at IIM Lucknow. Apart from the 9 companies whose offers were accepted, there were close to a dozen more firms which either participated in the process or expressed interest in the process, but could not be accommodated mainly owing to high interest level from the industry and the small batch size. The credit for the successful summer placement process goes to the Director, IIM Lucknow, the Placement Team at IIM Lucknow’s Noida campus chaired by Prof S Venkataramanaiah, and PGP-SM students who put in the maximum efforts. We look forward to a productive and long term association with our industry partners.”

Is it possible to get a call from IIM Ahmedabad with 93% in 10th, 95% in 12th, 85% in B.Tech from Tier 3 college without any internships and extra curricular activities and 99%tile in CAT?

Anshu Saini 20th Feb, 2020
Hi aspirant,
IIMs are known to raise their bars of the expected percentile in the examination. The general bracket of the accepted CAT percentile ranges from 95 to a 99.98 percentile so as to get you a PI, that is, a Personal Interview call from the IIM institutes. In regard to this they also consider 12 and 10 class marks and grade them. With your score you have fair chances of getting a call from IIM ahemdabad but you have to clear analytical written test (AWT) and personal interview for admission. Follow this link for more details-

I have 81% in 10th & 61% in 12th & 60% in graduation(B-Tech). 0 work experience.I can eligible for IIm L,C,K,B,I.FMS? and What is the CAT %le required (C-OBC) to get into these iims?

Sampriti Student Expert 18th Jan, 2020
The top IIMs require atleast 80 percentile for the OBC candidates but considering your profile you must score minimum 85-90 percentile in order to get a call from the top IIMs and for FMS you should have a minimum of 90 percentile in CAT. You must equally focus on other factors like maintaining a good sectional cutoffs of 85-90 percentile in all the 3 sections.

If you're planning to appear for CAT in 2020 then you still have some time. Try to work on your profile like participating in national events or doing certain internships as that will increase your chances of getting a call and will also help in further career expansion.

Good Luck

Hi iam having dyslexia, and government hospital certificate for learning disability, can I get pwd (person with disabilities) quota in iim for mba

Harshita Gupta 18th Jan, 2020
Hey,

IIM has given the criteria for PwD under the " Rights of person with Disabilities Act 2006" and according to it, a person must not have disabilities less than 40% , which means disability should be 40% affective.
The categories of disabilities considered under the Act are as follows:
  • Blindness and low vision.
  • Deaf and hard of hearing.
  • locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy.
  • autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness.
And few others. So according to the last point mentioned above, you are eligible and might get admission in pwd category if you meet the requirements of scores and cut-off and if you fulfill the criteria.

hope this helps!

10th perecntage is 97,12th is 98.3, BTEC goa is 9.17, cat percentile is 93.22, female ews category. I got a call from iimL, what are my changes with C?

Sampriti Student Expert 7th Jan, 2020
You've a pretty good chance of getting IIM Calcutta considering your CAT percentile and your academic background. The final selection process of IIM C is a little easier than that of IIM L which focuses more on the knowledge  of general business .

Moreover IIM C usually considers  the diversity and provides good platform to ews,sc or st students . So you definitely have good chances. So just give your best in the interview and you can easily get through it.

All the very best

Do the new and baby IIMs provide dual specialization? What is the criteria? Please explain.

Sonali Sahu Student Expert 31st Dec, 2019

Hello,

They provide dual degree program to some selected students. For IIM calcutta:- the process is selection through CAT/GMAT score. Then going through other screening tests. If you qualify then  you will get an admission. The process will be same for all the IIMs but may be the cutoff mark will vary with respect to campus location.

New IIMs are worth joining as said by the students who joined and they had a good experience there and they adventured many new things. Fee structure and hostel facilities are also good.

For more details you can check the dual degree program in IIM webpage. For IIM calcutta :- https://www.iimcal.ac.in/programs/pgp/double-degree-program/double-degree-program

Hope it helps!
