Xavier Institute of Management, Xavier University, Bhubaneswar has completed the final placement process for MBA (Business Management) MBA (Human Resource Management) and MBA (Rural Management) 2017 batches. The BMS batch consisted of 360 students, HRM batch had 120 students and RM batch had 83 participants, who were extended offers by 102, 52 and 30 companies respectively. Average domestic salary offered was Rs. 13.18 lakh per annum for BM batch, Rs. 12.39 lakh per annum for HRM batch and Rs. 7.32 lakh per annum for the RM batch. XIMB MBA Business Management (BM) 2017 Placement Highlights
According to XIMB, the number of PPO/PPIs increased by 35 per cent. The number of recruiters have increased by over 50 per cent. Following table brings to you the highlights of the placement 2017.

The top recruiters for MBA (BM) included CBC, Deloitte, PwC, TCS, Godrej, Tata Steel, L&T, SBI Group, Maruti Suzuki, Bluestar, ICRA, Emami, Bajaj Auto and Idea. New participants in the XIMB placement process this year were Axis Bank, GMR, MRF, Mu Sigma, IOCL, Hero Motocorp, VMware, Religare, Standard Chartered Global Business Services. Varied roles were offered to the students which consisted of Corporate Finance, Risk Management, Strategic Consulting, Equity Research, Marketing, Sales and Distribution, Supply Chain Management, Customer Relations, Business Consulting, IT Consulting and Business Development.
Sector and Domain wise Placement Records
Marketing was the highest recruiting domain with 35 per cent of the batch accepting offers in this role. Consulting was the second largest recruiting domain. Let us take a look at the domain wise placement trends.
The top recruiters were from various sectors such as FMCG, Automobile, Telecom, Conglomerate, Manufacturing etc. Companies which extended offers to almost 35 per cent of the students were L'OrÃ©al, Nestle, Bajaj Auto, Tata Steel, UHG, Maruti Suzuki, Times Group, HSIL, Idea Cellular, BPCL, Vedanta among others.
Deloitte, PwC, Cognizant Business Consulting, Ernst & Young, TCS, IBM, Tiger Analytics etc. were some of the major recruiters offering roles in Business Consulting. This vertical recruited across 30 per cent of the batch.
Major financial corporates like Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC, CRISIL, ICRA, HSBC IB, Royal Bank of Scotland, HSBC Analytics, Tata Capital, IIFL, DCB Bank, SBI Group, Standard Chartered Global Business Services and several others made offers to around 15 per cent of the batch.
Around 14 per cent of the batch were extended offers from Systems domain. Top recruiters which offered diverse roles in IT were HP Enterprise, HCL Technologies, Wipro, Accenture Technology Services, Capgemini, Mindtree, Mahindra Comviva, Infosys etc.
General Management, Strategy and Operations
These areas saw participation from conglomerates like Godrej, Larsen & Toubro, GMR and companies like RBS, TASL, Tata Steel, Sarda Group and Total Oil.
XIMB MBA Human Resource Management (HRM) 2017 Placement Highlights

Companies like Aditya Birla Group, GAIL, Tata Steel, HDFC Life made offers in the Industrial Relations Area. Corporate HR roles were offered by leading organizations like HCCBPL, ICICI Bank, CBC, Sun Pharma, Wipro, Asian Paints among others.

Sector wise placement trends
BFSI sector made the highest number of offers, i.e. 34. Although FMCG sector extended offers to seven per cent of the batch, the highest salary was offered from this sector, by Amul. Let us take a detailed look at the top recruiters and roles.
Sales & Marketing
The roles offered in this sector by top FMCG companies included Sales, Business Development and Rural Marketing. Top recruiters were AMUL, CavinKare and Sarda group.
This sector saw offers coming from PwC, Deloitte and Sambodhi Research. New recruiters participating in this sector were Quess Corp, Infiniti Research etc. Consulting sector extended offers to 17 per cent of the batch. In terms of salary, this sector offered second highest after Sales & Marketing.
This sector offered highest number of jobs to 34 per cent of the batch. Some of the major recruiters were State Bank of India, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, TATA AIG General Insurance and Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance.
Ujjivan Financial Services was the highest recruiter in this domain. Other recruiters included Arohan Financial Services, Fincare, Swadhaar Finserve, Village Financial Services, Samunnati who cumulatively recruited 22 per cent of the batch.
Organisations in the development sector like PRADAN, Basix, Bihar Rural Livelihood Promotion Society, SRIJAN, Humana People To People, recruited 10 per cent of the batch.
TATA Trust and National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd.(NAFED) provided offers in the CSR and Co-operatives domain.
