TAPMI Manipal Commences 2013-15 batch with 409 students
TAPai Management Institute (TAPMI),Manipal has commenced the 31st PGDM batch of 2013-15 and the 4th batch of PGDM Healthcare. This year, a total number of 409 students have been admitted. The students belong to diverse educational, professional and geographic backgrounds.
When it comes to gender diversity, 31% students are female. 91% of the students are from engineering or technical education background who have pursued B.E or B. Tech. Majority of the batch, which constitutes to 84%, has prior work experience of average 2 years. The maximum work experience of the batch is 4.5 years. Geographically, the students are from 60% states of India.
The TAPMI Manipal Induction Program was graced by Dr. P Tamilvanan, Chairman, New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT), Mangalore, who was the chief guest of the program and Dr. H. Shantaram Administrative Officer, Academy of General Education.Dr. Tamilvanan shared with the students, the essential qualities a Manager of the future should possess. He shared his own experiences at various ports like Vizag, Chennai, Kochi and Mangalore. Dr. Dhantaram greeted the students and shared about the evolution of Manipal as a global hub for higher education as envisioned by its founder Dr. TMA Pai.
The second day of the Orientation was dedicated to interaction with notable alumni members like Mr. ShashankShukla from New Delhi. He inspired the students with his words of wisdom. The Orientation program ended on a lighter note, with the cultural program organized by the Cultural Committee of TAPMI Manipal which consisted of dance, drama and other facets of the culture.
TAPMI Manipal is located in Karnatakaand was established in the year 1984. TAPMI was conferred the prestigious AACSB accreditation in the year 2012. The fee for the flagship PGDM program is Rs. 9, 90, 000 and that of the PGDM Healthcare is Rs. 9, 50, 000.
