St. Xavier's announces BMS 2016; test on June 4

St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai has announced the dates for its undergraduate management entrance test- BMS 2016. As per the official notification, the application process starts from May 1 and the test is scheduled to be conducted on June 4, 2016.

As per the application process, candidates have to fill and pay the requisite fee online. After the confirmation of fee, students have to download the form and send it to the college address. The last date to send the application fee is May 30, 2016.

To be eligible for the test, candidates must have passed 10 + 2 from a recognized board. Final year candidates can also apply for the test. Only registered students will be able to download their Admit Card, and later appear in the test.

According to the test pattern, Xavier’s BMS will consist of 2 Sections, both objective and subjective in nature. The total duration of the test will be 2 hours, from 2 pm to 4 pm. The results date for the test has not yet been announced by the officials. However, it is likely that the result will be announced in the last week of June 2016.


St Xavier’s College, Mumbai conducts university level test - Xavier’s BMS Entrance Test 2016 for admissions to its undergraduate management programme. The college offers a total of 60 seats under different categories.

I would like to inform you that these are the eligibility criteria for ST. Xavier's Entrance exam below:-

  • Candidates who have passed their 10+2 from a recognized board are eligible for registering for the exam
  • The minimum aggregate in 10+2 exam should be 60 percent
  • Those candidates belonging to the minority category should have 55 percent in their 10+2 examinations and those belonging to the reserve category should have 50 percent marks in their 10+2
  • Candidates from General Category whose birth date falls on or after 1 st June 1995 are eligible to appear for St. Xavier’s Entrance Test
  • Candidates who belong to the Catholic community and SC/ST category who are born on or after 1 st June 1994 are eligible to sit for St. Xavier’s Entrance Test 2020.

Hello Manvi

First of all i want to say that you're lucky that you choose PCM. But that doesn't mean you can only go for Engineering.There are many other courses you can opt for.Like you can do Management Related Course(such as BBA),Social Science Related Course (Such as BA),Law Related Course(Such as BAL.LB/BCOM L.LB) and many more courses you can go for. Also being a maths student you have little preference that almost in every Entrance Exam there's maths section which you can do better than non-maths student.

Take your time,find more about these courses and go in that field in which you are interested.

i would like to inform you that every government colleges have some specific date to apply and that can be easily available on colleges websites.So go there and get registered yourself first before the deadline of online submission date  given according to the college that you choose and then you can be eligible for entrance exam.Further details will be provived on websites itself or else they will send you a notification related to date and destination of exam. Students who have passed their 12th from foreign boards have to obtain a 'PRIMA FACIE' eligibility letter from Mumbai University for first year courses. Here is the address for that:

Also, it is important for you to have passed your exams in the first attempt.

The aggregate is calculated out of 4 subjects at a +2 level and the subjects are also dependent on the eligibility criteria for your individual course. The subjects which are not to be calculated in these main 4 are All Dance courses, All Music Courses (with the exception of BSc. Mass Communication and MSc. Multimedia), All Vocational courses, SUPW, Agriculture, Arts/Fine Arts (with the exception of BSc. Mass Communication and MSc. Multimedia), Security, Work Experience, Fabric Study, Environmental studies, Environmental Science, Environmental Education, Gen. Foundation Course, Electricity/ Electrical Courses, Fashion studies, Heritage craft, Home Science, Painting (with an exception of M.Sc. in Multimedia), Salesmanship, Physical education, Fashion Designing, Entrepreneurship, Health Education and Floriculture.

The aggregate must be more than 45% and the candidate must have passed in all the papers. The candidates who have given the GCE are eligible if they have passed 2 'A' Level exams and '3' O level exams. Only subjects which have been passed at 'A' levels can be taken as subjects for honours and if it is a combination course, the subjects for eligibility for that particular course should be the subjects at 'A' level. But make sure your 'A' level is completed at the time of application.
