Prof Ashish Nanda has stepped down as the Director of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A) citing personal reasons. Prof Nanda has announced that he was stepping aside as Director, IIM A, with effect from September 1, 2017.  Prof Nanda said, “These past three and a half years, I have woken up every day feeling fortunate to be working for an institution that has contributed tremendously to me. I feel privileged to have followed in the footsteps of people I greatly admire, to have had the opportunity to lead the Institute at a crucial time in its trajectory, and to have contributed to the best of my ability to its continuing success.”

An alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad, prior to joining the institute as Director, Prof Nanda was serving as the Robert Braucher Professor of Practice at Harvard Law School. A gold medallist from the Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi and IIM A, he secured a master’s degree in economics, as well as a doctorate, from Harvard University. Before joining Harvard Law School in 2007, Nanda was a Harvard Business School faculty member for 13 years.

Prof Ashish Nanda added, “I believe we are at a point when there is alignment among various constituencies of the Institute as to the direction we ought to follow and considerable momentum along the path that we are following. We have a committed and enthusiastic chairman providing vision and guidance, a wise and engaged board, faculty that is productive and energized, staff that is loyal and devoted, brilliant and hard-working students, a diaspora of alumni committed to the Institute’s long term success, governmental support for operating autonomously to achieve our dreams, and industry that respects and values the Institute. This is as good a time as any for leadership transition at the Institute. Thus, I have requested IIMA Chairman Mr. Birla that I step aside from the position of director, and he has graciously acceded to my request.”

Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman, IIM A Board of Governors & Society, Chairman, Aditya Birla Group has accepted his resignation.

“I have received your resignation dated 26/4/2017. We have had a conversation about this for the past couple of weeks, and I fully understand your need to be with family and the inconvenience that the separation is causing you. Hence, I accept your resignation, albeit with regret. In the few months that we have worked together, I have seen your unwavering commitment to IIM-A and the passion and zeal with which you have worked for its holistic progress. You have done a wonderful job in the past 3½ years that you have been heading the Institute, and I am sure that you will remain engaged with the Institute in the future as well. On behalf of the Board of Governors, and on my own behalf, I would like to express our gratitude for your outstanding contribution to IIM-A,”  Birla replied to Prof Nanda.

Hello

There's no BBA course offered by IIM Ahmedabad. Currently there are only two IIMs that offer BBA+MBA course (IIM Indore & IIM Rohtak)where you can join for the course after cracking IPMAT exam.

I Hope This Helps

Hi...

The score of 190 in CAT is very good.

But you have to mention the section wise marks.

33-35-90+ percentile

For DILR:

41-45 - 99+ percentile

For VARC:

72-76 - 99+ percentile

60-66-  -95+ percentile

The colleges accepting the CAT between 98-99 percentile:

t’s wonderful if you want to study at IIM ABCKL, but there are other brilliant institutes at well.  SP Jain is great for marketing.

XLRI has a good BM course and a best-of-the-bunch HR course.

IIFT Delhi and FMS are premier b-schools as well.

NITIE has the best operations course in India.

So you have wide range of options to select the colleges and there will be GDPI sessions which will also play a key role in getting into premium institutes.

Best luck...
