School of Management Studies, NMIMS Mumbai has completed the final placement for the 2011-13 batch. The batch strength was 474, which was 15% higher than last year. Following are some quick facts about the NMIMS 2013 placement:

BFSI was the most coveted sector with 55% students aspiring for it.
Let us have a look at the sector wise placement statistics.
BFSI: 34% of the students were recruited in this sector in the profiles of the functions like Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, Equity Research, Treasury, Wealth Management, Risk Management, International Banking, Strategy, Branding, Retail Banking, Asset Management, Credit Rating, Credit Risk etc.
Banking: The major recruiters were Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Standard Chartered Bank, HSBC, Royal Bank of Scotland, Nomura in the roles of Corporate Treasury, Business Operations, Credit Analysis and Relationship Management. Deutsche Bank, Barclays Shared Services &J P Morgan Chase recruited for the Operations profile. Indian banks such as ICICI Bank, Yes Bank, HDFC Bank, Kotak Bank, UCO Bank offered roles in Corporate Banking, Trade Finance Services, Risk Analytics, Wealth Management, Private Banking, Branch Banking & Credit and HR. - Ratnakar Bank and Saraswat Bank were the new recruiters in this sector.
Financial Services: The top names of this sector are Motilal Oswal Securities Ltd., India Infoline (IIFL), IndiaBulls, SBICAPS, ICICI Securities, Edelweiss Financial Services, Magma Fin Corp, HDFC Limited, Aranca, Amba Research, UBS Verity, FINO PayTech, RMS, Ventura Securities and Futures First. The profiles in which these companies recruited are Commercial Credit, Equity Research, Investment Research, Strategic Business, Project Advisory & Structured Finance. Roles of Analyst were offered by the Rating agencies like CRISIL, ICRA and Brickwork Ratings.
Insurance: The top recruiters of this sector were HDFC Life Insurance, Kotak Life Insurance, Religare Health Insurance, Swiss Re, IndiaFirst Life Insurance. The roles in which these companies offered jobs are Marketing, HR and Acturial Analyst roles.
Conglomerates: The regular recruiters in this sector were GE, RIL, Cummins, M&M, L&T, DCM Shriram Consolidated Ltd (DSCL) and Vedanta. Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. (JSPL), Sahara India and Siva Group were the first time recruiters. The roles in which the students were recruited were Finance, Sales & Marketing and Operations & Leadership profiles of Strategy.
Consulting: The companies participating from this sector were Ernst & Young, PWC, KPMG, Cognizant Business Consulting, Protiviti Consulting, Indigo Edge, Actuate Business Consulting, Juxt Consulting, Jones Lang LaSalle, CBRE, Accelya, Kale Solutions Limited, Michael Page, People Strong, Cerebrus Consultants & hCapital offered the roles of Risk Advisory, Financial Advisory, Marketing & Strategy Consulting, Operations Consulting, IT Consulting, HR Consulting and in the areas of Market Research, Analytics, Real Estate, Airline and Travel.
FMCG/CD: This sector saw the topmost companies as recruiters. ITC, Marico, Dabur, Reckitt Benckiser, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, Red Bull, McDonald’s, L'Oreal, Kellogg’s, Wipro CCL, Givaudan, Pidilite, Emami, Agrotech Foods, Henkel & Bisleri. Further Titan Industries, Godrej & Boyce, Bata, Videocon, D’Decor were the top recruiters recruiting for the profiles of International Marketing, Branding, Distribution, Operations, Sales & Marketing and HR.
IT/ITES: The top names of the IT sector such as Microsoft, Google, Capgemini, Accenture, Amazon, Infosys, Wipro Technologies, HCL Technologies, Polaris, Suvidhaa Infoserve, Mu-Sigma and First Source who are among the regular recruiters also participated this year. The first time recruiters were NetApp, Hurix, Dell India, Tata Elxsi, Tata Interactive, Mahindra Comviva, Zycus, Maveric Systems, Syntel, Sokrati, Miles Software Solutions, Resultrix and Sutherland Global. Dell Analytics, Credence Analytics & Boston Analytics were from the Analytics space. Infosys BPO and Mindtree were from recruited after few years gap.
Manufacturing: According to NMIMS, Asian Paints and Tata Motors are the legacy recruiters. Apart from them, the other recruiters included Exxon Mobil, IOCL, VVF Limited, Dalmia Cements, Garware Bestretch and Ambuja Cement for the roles of Sales & Marketing, HR, Operations, Strategy and Distribution. Dalmia Cements, Garware Bestretch and Ambuja Cement were the first time recruiters.
Pharma: The recruiters from this sector included the top names like Cipla and Piramal Healthcare, ACG Worldwide and Boehringer Ingelheim. Cipla and Piramal Healthcare were the first time recruiters. The roles offered were Sales and Marketing and Operations.
Telecom: The recruiters included the top names in the telecom sector like Vodafone, Idea Cellular and Tata Communications which offered roles in Business Development, Marketing and Corporate HR.
Logistics: DHL Express and GATI KWE offered roles in Sales and Marketing and Supply Chain.
Media & Advertising: HT Media, Times OOH, Group-M and Mogae Media recruited for the profiles of Media Marketing, Commercial Marketing & Advertisement. Mogae Media was the first time recruiter.
Real Estate: The top recruiters included Lodha Group, Sunteck Realty and HDFC Red.
