Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) has announced the first NMAT by GMAC, the MBA entrance exam for NMIMS Mumbai and other B-schools to be conducted from October 6 to December 19, 2015. The registration process has started from July 2, 2015 and will end on October 5.
Till last year, NMAT or NMIMS Aptitude Test was conducted by Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) Mumbai for the admission to its management programmes in the campuses located in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Shirpur. In March 2015, GMAC acquired the test and will be conducting it this year onwards. Unlike previous years when NMAT was conducted exclusively for the admission in NMIMS, NMAT by GMAC scores will be accepted by 11 B-schools apart from NMIMS.
As per GMAC, the exam pattern and format of the exam will remain same as last year.
The application process will be completely online. The candidates have to visit the official website of NMAT by GMAC to apply for the test. The application process has started from July 2 and will end on October 5, 2015 at 11.59 pm. The registration fee is Rs. 1600 for early registration and retake. The late registration fee is Rs. 2000. The fee for rescheduling the test is Rs. 1000.
Since NMAT by GMAC is a computer based test and candidates can attempt 2 retakes, the test takers have to schedule the original and the retakes accordingly. There is also a late registration window starting from October 6 and ending on October 19, 2015. The application fee for the late registration will be higher than the original fee.
As mentioned before, the exam pattern will remain the same. NMAT by GMAC is a computer based test of 2 hours consisting of 120 questions from 3 sections, namely Language Skills, Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning. Each question carries 1 mark and there is no negative marking scheme.
