IIM Raipur, one of the six new IIMs, and the mentee institute of IIM Indore has completed the placement process for the academic year 2011-13. The highlights of the placement of 2011-13 are as follows:

Highest salary: Rs. 19 lakh per annum

The prominent recruiters were HSBC STG, Ernst and Young, Ranbaxy Laboratories, Jindal Steel and Power Limited, IBM, Hero MotoCorp, Maruti Suzuki, Godrej & Boyce, Vedanta, ICICI Bank, Yes Bank, Usha International, HT Media, Bharat Petroleum, Hindustan Petroleum, Infosys BPO, Power Finance Corporation etc.
The students were also offered varied and niche profiles such as Global Leadership position, AVP - Strategy & Operations, Executive Assistant, Leadership Development, International Marketing, Investment Banking, Corporate Planning, International Business, Quality Management and Marketing and Commercial.
Let us have a look at the profile wise distribution.
The most coveted profile was Sales & Marketing, followed by Operations/IT. Finance was the next favourite with 20% recruitment. Consulting and General Management had 20% recruitment.
Sector wise Placement
Manufacturing/Engineering is the highest sector of recruitment followed by IT/ITES (16%) and Energy (14%). Automobile and Banking sectors had equal recruitment, 11%, followed by Consulting and Consumer Durables which recruited 9% each. Education/E-Commerce and Media recruited 5% each. The lowest sector of recruitment is Pharmaceuticals with 2% recruitment.
Sales & Marketing
This is the highest recruited profile in the 2013’s placement at IIM Raipur. Automobile, IT, Oil & Gas, Banking, BPO, Consumer Durables and Media companies offered roles such as Sales & Marketing, International Marketing, Business Development, Online Marketing, Dealer Development, Media Marketing and Circulation.An exclusive offer of International Marketing was offered by an international giant. Product Management profile was offered by People Group. A unique profile on branding and communication was offered by a social entrepreneurship company. Linde India recruited for its Marketing Strategy, Sales and Commercial profiles. Tata Motors had offered a PPO in this domain.
Sales and Marketing had the highest recruitment (40%) followed by Marketing and Commercial (15%) and Business Development (10%). Other areas like Franchise Sales and Support, Marketing Strategy, Media Marketing, Ad Sales, Product Development, Service Marketing and pre Sales and Communication had 5% recruitment each.
20% of the batch opted for the Finance sector. The top roles were Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, Valuation, Risk Management, Emerging Corporate Banking, International Banking, Trading, Debt Capital Market and Loan Syndications. A niche financial consulting role was offered by a company in transportation industry. The top recruiters were HSBC STG, ICICI Bank, Power Finance Corporation, RITES, Tata Power, Trident Group and Yes Bank.
This area saw 23% recruitment. The profiles included Quality Management, Strategic Sourcing, Merchandise Operations and Strategy. Business Transformation Analyst profile was a unique profile offered by an offshore IT company. The prominent recruiting companies were Hero MotoCorp, IBM, Infosys BPO, L&T Hydrocarbon, Maruti Suzuki, Walch and Nagar Industries.
Consulting and General Management
The profiles of recruitment were Executive Assistant, Business Consultant and project manager. Ranbaxy Laboratories hired for its coveted Global Leadership Program. The top recruiters were Ernst and Young, I-Maritime Consulting, Infosys BPO, Jindal Steel and Power Limited, MuSigma and Ranbaxy Laboratories.
A total of 14 offers were accepted in lateral placement process. Profiles like Strategic Business Consultant, Executive Assistant to top management, Strategic Sourcing, Corporate Planning, Solutions Design, Business Consultant, IT Consultant etc. were offered in the lateral placement process.
Major recruiters were Infosys BPO, Ernst and Young, Tesco HSC, Hero MotoCorp, Ranbaxy Laboratories and Jindal Steel and Power Limited.
One student chose to opt out of the placement process and start his own venture in education domain.
