IIM Lucknow Summer Placement Report 2017-19: IIM Lucknow has completed the Summer Placement process for 2017-19 batch of 459 students. More than 150 domestic and international recruiters participated in the process offering roles in marketing, consulting & finance domains. More than 40 companies were first time recruiters with over 60 per cent coming from the Sales & Marketing, Finance and e-Commerce sector. Some of the other sectors that were represented by these firms were consulting, systems/IT, general management, media and automotive. According to IIM Lucknow, the Summer Placement process of the 33rd batch saw 50 per cent increase in Finance profiles.
DSP BlackRock, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Citi and JPMorgan Chase offered sought after roles like investment banking, capital markets and equity research. The top four segments based on roles offered were Sales & Marketing, Finance, Consulting and business development and the rest of the offers came from domains such as operations/supply chain, general management, systems/IT, market research, analytics and HR.
Some of the top recruiters across different sectors were Accenture Strategy, Aditya Birla Group, Amazon, A.T. Kearney, Cipla, Deutsche Bank, EY, Hindustan Unilever Limited, ITC Limited, Mahindra & Mahindra, McKinsey & Co., P&G, TAS, The Boston Consulting Group, Uber and Vodafone. Some of the first time recruiters included Allergan, Bajaj Auto, Diageo, Exide Industries Limited, Mytrah Energy, Puma, Sanofi, Shell and United Phosphorous Limited among others. International profiles were offered by companies like AB InBev, Cipla, Deutsche Bank and Hindustan Unilever Limited among others.

As many as 150 offers were made by companies like AB InBev, Allergan, Asian Paints, Bajaj Auto, Bharti Airtel, Colgate Palmolive, Dabur, Exide Industries Limited, Hindustan Unilever Limited, ITC Limited, Marico, Mars, Mondelez International Limited, Nestle, P&G and Sanofi. Apart from regular Sales & Marketing roles, other profiles offered included Supply Chain Management, IT, Finance, HR and analytics with some of them being exclusive for IIM Lucknow.
Major roles offered in this sector were in front end investment banking, global markets, investment research, corporate/wholesale/retail banking, market research, trading and operations. Top recruiters were DSP BlackRock, American Express, Altisource, Avendus Capital, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Citibank, DBS Bank, Deutsche Bank, Duff & Phelps, HSBC, ICICI Bank, JPMorgan Chase, Nomura, Piramal Fund and RBL Bank among others.
Consulting and General Management
Accenture Strategy, Alvarez & Marsal, A.T. Kearney, Auctus Advisors, Deloitte, EY, McKinsey & Co., MasterCard Advisors and The Boston Consulting Group were the major recruiters from the Consulting sector. The general management domain saw participation from companies like Aditya Birla Group, Bharti Airtel, Capgemini, Mahindra & Mahindra, RIL, RPG and TAS among others.
Amazon, Cognizant, Flipkart, Microsoft, Uber and Wipro were the top recruiters which offered roles like category management, sales enablement, business development, supply chain management, product marketing, strategic alliances, program manager and analytics along with regular IT and technology profiles.
Pharmaceutical and Healthcare
Top players in this domain like Cipla, Novartis and Dr. Reddy’s recruited large number of students for sales and marketing, finance, operations, market research and general management roles. Allergan and Sanofi were first time recruiters.
