IIFT Summer Placements 2017-19: 11 percent increase in average stipend

IIFT Summer PlacementsIIFT Summer Placements 2017-19: Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), Delhi has completed summer placements for its 2017-19 batch with an increase of 10.48 percent in average stipend. The average stipend offered was Rs. 1.37 lakh as compared to Rs 1.24 lakh last year. As many as 80 companies made offers to 282 students. Nearly 65 percent of the batch was offered a six-figure stipend and 16 companies recruited more than five students each.

According to IIFT Delhi, some of the major companies who participated in the summer placement at IIFT this year were HUL, ITC, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase & Co, Godrej Industries (GILAC), Marico, Shell, GE, Dabur, Bain Capability Centre, GSK CH, Google, Amazon, Citibank and Axis Bank. The Tata group (Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Tata Metaliks, Tata International & TCS) made a total of 14 offers. 

 

IIFT Summer Placement 2017-19: Sector-wise placement

 

International Placements –As many as 16 students were offered international roles across Middle East, Africa, Europe, Singapore and Indonesia. The World Trade Organization (WTO) recruited interns for their Geneva office and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) offered roles for their Paris office.

 

Finance -  Top recruiters in this domain included Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase & Co, Axis Bank, DBS, GE, Yes Bank, ICICI Bank, RBL, L&T, Piramal Group, Citibank, Indus Valley Partners, Axis Securities and Aviva. Corporate Finance roles were offered by GSK-CH and Boston Scientific-Corporate Finance etc.

 

Sales and Marketing – The domain witnessed a distinctive representation across sectors like FMCG, Telecom, Pharma and Healthcare, Consumer Durables, Media and Advertising, E-commerce, Apparel Retail, Automotive, Iron & Steel manufacturing and Real Estate. Some leading brands which recruited in these sectors are HUL, ITC, Godrej Consumer Products Limited, GSK-CH, Dabur, Marico, Britannia, PPG-Asian Paints, Wipro-CCLG, Raymond, DCM Shriram etc.

 

Media & Advertising - Internship roles in media and advertising sector were offered by Hindustan Times Media among others.

 

Pharma -  Medtronic, Sun Pharma, Boston Scientific, Sanofi-Genzyme hired interns.

 

Telecom - Airtel & Vodafone were the major recruiters in this domain which hired for various roles.

 

Conglomerates - Industry leaders such as Mahindra and Mahindra, Airtel, Godrej Properties, Tata Steel, RPG, L&T, Shell, Bajaj Auto, AkzoNobel, Mattel, Royal Enfield, HP, IBM, Dell and Capgemini offered the General Management roles to the students and brands such as Bain Capability Centre, Synergy Consulting, GEP and CEB (now Gartner) offered Quality Consulting roles.
