Talking to Careers360, CAT officials said that it was just a technical glitch and not ‘leakage’ that enabled a few candidates to download their scorecard.

CAT 2015 Convenor Prof Tathagat Bandyopadhyay confirmed that a few candidates could download the scorecards from the official website due to a technical glitch by the online testing partner Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).  “Because a technical glitch on part of TCS, a few candidates could download the scorecard before we could intimate students their results via text SMS,” he said.

He also added that all the candidates will be able to find and download their scorecard through official website by midnight.

Earlier, CAT officials had announced that the results will be announced by second week of January.

On the basis of the CAT 2015 Result, the 19 IIMs will announce the shortlist of candidates based on their admission criteria and CAT 2015 cutoff. The shortlisted candidates have to appear for Written Ability Test and Personal Interview rounds. The new IIMs conduct a Common Admission Process consisting of Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds.

This year, 1,79,602 candidates appeared for the exam out of 2,18,664 applicants.

Normalization and Shortlisting at IIMs:

According to the normalization process announced by IIM-A officials, the scores of CAT 2015 results have been adjusted for location and scale differences of score distributions across different test forms. Besides normalization across different forms, the result prepared for CAT 2015 has been further normalized across different sections and the scaled scores obtained by this process have been converted into percentiles. The same percentile will be used as final results for shortlisting by IIMs and other top B-schools accepting Cat scores in India, IIM officials said.

Can I give cat exam in my 4th year 1st sem... Now m in 3rd year..

Atharv Mungikar 9th Dec, 2019

Hello,

Most of the students from B. Tech sit for CAT exam in their final year. You will be considered as a fresher and most of the questions asked in the interview will be done from your B. Tech field. But according to my knowledge, students having some experience are preferred more in the colleges. I recommend that you start gaining experience from the 7th SEM and register and then give your CAT exam before your 8th SEM because after the interviews colleges generally ask for graduation certificate for a proof that you have graduated. Some interviews also require you to show the pre-final year notice (a letter from UG should work)

I hope this helped.

All the best.

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 9th Dec, 2019

hi,

see there is no age age limit for applying in cat exam, and there is no mention of maximum year gap. the basic eligibility criteria for appearing in cat exam is you need to have graduation degree in any discipline with 50% marks in graduation. however some top institute like iims, sp jain, fms delhi and top bschool has gd and  interview session after clearing cutoff score of entrance test. so you may asked to explain the year gap. thats why be prepared for it. however you are definitely eligible for cat.

87 percentile in cat 2019 with 40.xx %ile in VA so which college is there in which I can consider?

Bhaskar Nakkina Student Expert 7th Dec, 2019

Hii,

The Cut off to IIM's and Business Schools depend on the Highest mark and difficulty level of the exam. As there is no official Highest mark, we have to wait till the Results are released. 87 percentile in CAT is a good Score. You can get good Business Schools but difficult to get IIM's.
