CAT 2015 results: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad is all set to announce the much-awaited CAT 2015 results after January 7, 2016. TheIIM CAT website (iimcat.ac.in) has already undergone maintenance for technical checks for CAT results announcements, and IIM Ahmedabad is ready to publish the results as scheduled, officials said. Earlier, IIM Ahmedabad had announced that the result will be declared in the second week of January and the next stage of the admission process for all 19 IIMs and other Top B-schools accepting CAT scores will begin thereafter.
The officials said that CAT 2015 Results will carry the Scaled Scores for each section - Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability (QA); and total score along with the percentile.
CAT 2015 was conducted in two sessions on November 29 with two different Test papers for the two test sessions. Detailing the normalization process which has been adopted to prepare the CAT 2015 results, officials said that the scores of the candidates have been adjusted for location and scale differences of score distributions across different test forms. After normalization across different forms, the scores have been further normalized across different sections and the scaled scores obtained by this process have been converted into percentiles for purposes of shortlisting, the IIM officials said.
IIM selection process:
After the CAT 2015 results are declared, each IIM will publish their own list of shortlisted candidates for the next level of selection. “Each IIM will send interview letters to the short-listed candidates directly. The criteria for short-listing vary from IIM to IIM,” officials said.
The next stage of the selection process at IIMs includes Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussions (GD) and Personal Interviews (PI). While the scores of CAT 2015 is given due weight-age, different IIMs also use academic performance of the candidates, relevant work experience, and other similar inputs in short listing and ranking of candidates at various stages of the admission process.
