CAT 2015 application process begins from August 6
The Application process for the Common Admission Test- CAT has started from August 6 and will continue till September 20, 2015. This year CAT is being conducted by the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad in a single day window on Sunday, November 29 in two sessions. Eligible candidates must apply before the deadline.
This year the exam pattern of CAT 2015 has undergone major changes. As per the new CAT Exam Pattern the duration of the exam has been increased to 180 minutes with total 100 questions divided into three sections. The time limit for each section has been re-introduced to 60 minutes this year.
If you are aspiring to take the test, you need to complete the application procedure by Sunday, September 20, 2015. The registration process is slated to take around an hour and you need to keep information such as your past academic record, work experience handy to fill up the application form. You will also have to upload your photograph and signature and upload documents.

As per the CAT 2015 Eligibility Criteria requires minimum 50% aggregate mark in graduation in any discipline from a recognized institute. The candidates from SC, ST, OBC and DA category need an aggregate of 45% marks. Final year graduation students can also apply provided they can submit the graduation final marks to the institutes within the requisite schedule.
Since last year the application process for CAT has become completely online. Candidates have to register at the official CAT 2015 website and login through the given credentials. Fill up the application form and pay the application fee through Credit/Debit Card or Net Banking. The CAT 2015 application fee to be paid by General and NC-OBC candidates is Rs.1600 and Rs.800 by SC/ST/PWD/ DA candidates.
Only after the successful registration of CAT 2015 students will be able to download the admit card can be downloaded from October 15, 2015 from the official website of CAT 2015.
The total duration of the exam is 180 minutes with exact 60 minutes to answer each section. The total number of questions is 100, divided into three sections. The three sections will be, Quantitative Aptitude (QA), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Verbal and Reading Comprehension (VRC). Candidates will not be allowed to switch from one section to another while answering questions in a section. QA and VRC will have 34 questions each, and DILR will have 32 questions. Some questions in each section may not be of multiple choice type, instead, candidate have to type direct answers on the screen. Also the test takers will be allowed to use basic on-screen calculator for calculations.
