CAT 2014 Scoring Process remains unchanged, follows +3 -1 pattern
IIMs have announced the scoring process of CAT 2014 in the recently enabled document, ‘Test Duration and Pattern’ at the official CAT 2014 website. According to the test pattern, the CAT 2014 scoring process will be same as last year, +3 for correct answer and -1 for wrong answer. There will be no penalty for un-attempted questions. Hence the total marks for CAT 2014 would be 300.

However, there has been no information on the Equating process so far and it mentions that,
“The Equating/Scaling Process will be announced on the CAT 2014 website: www.iimcat.ac.in prior to CAT 2014 examination (16th and 22nd November, 2014).”
CAT 2014 Duration
As mentioned earlier, the duration of CAT 2014 will be 170 minutes or 2 hours 50 minutes. The PWD/DA candidates would be allotted an extra hour to complete the test. This year onwards, there would be no sectional time constraint unlike the previous years.
The CAT 2014 website says, “Candidates may attempt any section first. The questions can be answered out of sequence too. And the candidate can also toggle between sections and attempt questions. An on-screen timer will mark remaining minutes for the test.”
Submission Allowed only after 170 minutes
Even if you complete the test earlier than the original schedule of 170 minutes, you would not be allowed to leave the exam hall. The Submit button will be enabled only after 170 minutes after which the timer on the screen will stop and you will need to submit your Scratch Sheets with rough work to the invigilator and leave the test center after he/she allows you.

I noticed yesterday that my DOB is wrong in the form.I mailed the authorities but they said noting can be done.Has anyone faced such a problem before? Were they able to give the exam?Did it affect the later process? Is there any solution to this? KIndly help me out.I prepared diligently for this(CAT)
see you should be very careful while applying for any exam or form filling. however you may still get the admit card and participate in the exam. but at the time of document verification you have to face questions about the wrong dob. later it would be solely depends on the exam authority whether they would accept the application or not.

can a ews category student apply for private medical college? and is the fees same for gen cat. and ews cat. student for private medical college?
The EWS category is an official reservation category that needs to be considered for admission into every college. So college consider EWS category also as other category. You can surely apply for private medical College.
Most of the colleges doesn't have fees as per the reservation. The fees seems to be same for every student. There might be some college that may offer scholarship to reserved category students .
Hope that helps.
