CAT 2014 result will be announced on December 27 when about 1.68 lakh CAT takers will be able to get their scores and Percentile, CAT Convenor Dr Rohit Kapoor has confirmed to Careers360. According to the revised date for CAT result by Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore, the result will be announced by evening on December 27, he told Careers360.Earlier, the CAT 2014 Results were scheduled to be announced by Sunday, December 21.
Update: CAT 2014 Result Declared on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 5 pm. Check here.
Speaking to Careers360, CAT 2014 Convenor Dr Rohit Kapoor also admitted said that there is a delay in publishing the result due to cross-checking of all the processes involved in the result declaration.
“Yes, we had scheduled the CAT 2014 Results for the third week and we actually wanted to do so. But, it’s taking a little more time as our team along with our testing Partner Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is taking a few extra measures to make the CAT results completely flawless,” he said.
Dr Kapoor, however, confirmed that the CAT 2014 results will be announced on the revised date of December 27 and candidates will have their results before they step into New Year Celebration.
“We are determined to announce the CAT results on December 27. We also don’t want CAT-takers to wait much longer,” Dr Kapoor said adding, “The result is in final stage and we are doing our final checks on any possibility of technical errors. Since we expect heavy traffic on Result day, we are testifying the technical aspects and ensuring that there is no technical glitch like server crash once the result is declared.”
Clarifying more over the delay in result declaration, the CAT Convenor said that the time frame of third week of December was only tentative as this was announced six month back along with application form announcement. “It is only rational to expect a little change in the result date as the final process of result compilation itself is a complex process,” he said, adding, “The CAT officials are completely focused on bringing the CAT 2014 results in a fair and transparent manner.”
CAT 2014 Marking Scheme
Although the CAT 2014 exam pattern witnessed major changes, the marking scheme remained the same. The test had 2 sections, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation and Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning. Each section had 50 questions making the total number of questions to be 100. The total duration of the test was also increased from a total of 140 minutes to total of 170 minutes. Each question carried 3 marks for correct answer and for each wrong answer there was negative marking of 1 mark.
The evaluation pattern this year, however, is a little different. According to CAT officials, “In order to ensure fairness and equity in comparison ofperformances of the candidates across different test sessions, the scores of thecandidates shall be subjected to a process of Normalization. The Normalizationprocess to be implemented shall adjust for location and scale differences of score distributions across different forms and the scaled scores obtained by this process shall be converted into percentiles for purposes of shortlisting.”
Based on the CAT 2014 result, the IIMs and the participating B-schools will declare the shortlist of candidates for the next round of selection process, GD, PI and WAT rounds.

95% in class 10 ,80.33 percentage in class 12 , 9.8 cgpa in graduation and 99.5+ percentile in CAT...is it enough to get a call from top IIM ?
Many Many Congratulations for such an outstanding scores in your exams and you have really performed very well in the Exams.
As you have asked for the top IIMs, with this much marks...First of all, I want to clear you that only CAT and graduation marks matters for them and rest all others are only for upgrading your CV profile during the call.
You have scored 99.5+ percentile in CAT, which is just excellent and surely you are going to get the calls from top IIMs for sure like IIM AHMEDABAD, IIM LUCKNOW, IIM BANGALORE, IIM CALCUTTA and many others.
You have performed very well and in return of it, you are getting an excellent college out of it.
I am providing you the link also where you can check all IIMs cut-offs for the final call to some student :
Hope that my answer helped you!!
Good Luck and Best wishes for your Future!!

I have 95 percentage in class 10 , 82.4 in class 12, 9.8 CGPA in BTech Marine Engineering, if I get above 98 percentile in CAT can I get into top IIM ?
Congratulations on your great academic records. But sadly that will only give you an added advantage but will not guarantee you a seat in top IIM. Also you have mentioned top IIMs, but you have not mentioned whether you wish to persue MBA from the old ones like Ahmedabad,Bangalore,Calcutta or the comperatively newer Lucknow,Kozhikode,Indore.
Sadly if you are general and you being an engineer, you need atleast a 99.2+ %ile to get into any of them along with performing exceptionally well in WAT-PI.
The diversity factors will help you in improving your overall score and also help you in your interviews (I believe), but you need a very high percentile to get admission in the IIMs.
Hope this helps!
which subject I should start preparing first in cat
Your complete CAT paper is divided into three major sections :-
*Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR)
*Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC)
But, it's not like first you prepare for one section and then for other and then for the last one rather you should start preparing for all the three section at the same time and for that you will need to make a routine and devote time for all the three sections and give more time to the section which is your weak for example if your attitude is weak then give more time to it
After completing cat syllabus, go through
Solve previous year question papers of CAT :-it will let you know the examination pattern, type and difficulty level of questions, also concepts behind the question often gets repeated, so you should definitely solve year papers
*CAT mock test papers , it will let you know your preparation level and and weak areas so that you can work on them and perform well in your examination

last tym 67%result but this tym 55%na then I didnt have chance to get mbbs seat and i got 395 (sc) telangana state. cat a also no chance ha ???
It's quite difficult to predict that whether you will get seat or not as cut off marks/rank for medical colleges keeps changing every year depending upon various factors like number of students that appeared in the exam, kind of marks obtained by them , toughness level of the examination etc.
But when we go through previous data then it suggests that with 395 marks you hold a low chance to get a seat in A category seats i. e government quota seats in private medical college
In Neet 2019, the lowest marks that got a seat in government quota seat in a private medical college state quota was 407 marks for sc category and it was for MAHAVIR INST OF MED SCI, VIKARABAD
With your marks you have chances for management seats in private medical college and deemed universities
