According to the new announcement, the CAT 2013 registration process will start from Monday, August 5, 2013 and will go on till Thursday, September 26, 2013. Earlier, the CAT 2013 registration dates were Monday, July 29, 2013 to Thursday, September 26, 2013.The rest of the important dates for CAT 2013 will remain the same. The CAT 2013 result will be declared on Tuesday, January 14, 2014.

Buy your CAT 2013 Vouchers Online
Instead of queuing up in front of the select Axis Bank branches, the candidates can buy the vouchers online directly from IIMs from 5 August to 24 September. However, you may also buy the forms from select Axis Bank branches during the stipulated dates. IIMs have opened both the online as well as offline options for buying the CAT 2013 voucher. “New to this year’s CAT is the option to purchase vouchers electronically. Details about payment of fees online will be made available on CAT 2013 websitewww.cat2013.iimidr.ac.in from 5 PM on Saturday, August 3, 2013. We hope this new point of purchase brings added convenience to the registration process,” said Prof. Rohit Kapoor, CAT 2013 Convener.
CAT 2013 gets new test centers
CAT 2013 will be conducted over 20 days starting from Wednesday, October 16 to Monday, November 11, 2013 across 40 cities. Last year, there were 36 cities where CAT exam was conducted but this year, 4 new cities, Surat, Udaipur, Trivandrum and Vijayawada.
CAT 2013 Pattern
As mentioned before, the CAT 2013 pattern will remain the same. The exam will have 2 sections, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation and Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning. The sections will appear sequentially and be time bound for 70 minutes each. The total duration of CAT 2013 will be 140 minutes or 2 hours 35 minutes. The total number of questions is 60. Within each section which will have an on-screen countdown timer. Once the time ends for the first section, they will move to the second and will be unable to go back.
CAT Convener Speaks
According to Prof. Kapoor, this year the students have better opportunity to get admission in IIMs. “This year’s CAT students will have greater opportunity for admission into the IIMs. Across all IIMs, 115 seats have been added for B-School admissions this year, a total of 3,335 seats. The number of women appearing for CAT has been steadily increasing, as well â from 53,700 in 2010 to 56,000 in 2011. For 2012, more than 60,800 women appeared for the CAT. Additionally, female aspirants are achieving better success on the CAT, with 255 women scoring higher than the 99 percentile on CAT 2012,” said Prof. Kapoor.
A practice test for CAT 2013 will be introduced soon in the CAT 2013 website. “Candidates are advised to go through the practice test carefully to familiarize themselves with the screens, layout and navigation,” mentioned Prof. Kapoor.
