Maharashtra & Karnataka: MBA admissions through CMAT

Admissions to management programmes in Maharashtra and Karnataka for 2013 will be through Common Management Admissions TEST (CMAT)

In a move that could provide relief to the aspiring management students, the governments of Maharashtra & Karnataka have decided to allow for admissions to the management programmes namely MBA/MMS/PGDM in AICTE approved institutions through the Common Management Admissions TEST (CMAT)

The aim is to reduce the burden on students with the help of one common exam . Students can save a lot of time and effort by concentrating on one exam.

The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) of Maharashtra has specified that the admissions for MBA/MMS/PGDM in the academic year 2013-2014 will be through CMAT. All students aspiring to enrol themselves in the state for the management courses are advised to attempt the CMAT.

The Principal Secretary to the Government (Education Dept), Higher Education has also specified that all admissions to the MBA programmes in AICTE approved institutions and university departments will be CMAT scores.
For the PGDM institutions, the admissions will be through any one of the five tests namely:  CMAT, CAT, MAT, XAT and ATMA
