XAT Exam 2024: Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur has extended the XAT 2024 application form last date to December 10. Candidates can apply for XAT Entrance Exam 2024 at xatonline.in. XLRI will conduct the Xavier Aptitude Test 2024 in CBT mode on January 7, 2024, in 80+ test cities. The admit card for the XAT exam 2024 will be issued on December 20 onwards. Candidates can download the XAT exam 2024 admit card by entering the valid XAT ID and Password.

So what is the XAT exam given for? The XAT 2024 is taken for MBA/ PGDM admissions offered by some of the prestigious institutes of the nation. Apart from XLRI and 10 other XAMI members, 600+ B-schools accept XAT scores for admission to their post-graduate management programmes. Every year around 90,000 to 1 lakh candidates appear for the XAT exam. XAT exam will asses the aptitude of candidates for future business success. 

Nearly 90,000 to 1 Lakh candidates will appear for the XAT exam as per the trends. The question paper for the XAT exam 2024 will consist of 100 MCQs from the sections of decision-making, Verbal and Logical Ability, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, and General Knowledge along with 1 Essay writing question. XAT exam duration will be 3 hours and 10 minutes. Earlier, the XLRI released the XAT exam mock test on October 28 and November 5 respectively in online mode.

XAT Exam 2024: Important Updates

• The XAT exam registration began on July 15, 2023.
• The XAT exam fee has been increased to Rs 2,100. An additional fee for each program is Rs 200.
• The essay writing part is restored in the XAT exam.
• XLRI Jamshedpur seats for PGDM (BM) increased to 240 from 180.
• XLRI Delhi NCR campus seats for PGDM (BM) increased to 180 from 120.

What is XAT exam eligibility?

Before filling out the application form for the Xavier Aptitude Test 2024, candidates are advised to go through the XAT exam 2024 eligibility criteria. Details pertaining to the educational qualification required marks, age limit, and related are mentioned under the XAT 2024 eligibility criteria. XLRI Jamshedpur predefines the eligibility criteria of XAT 2024 which are given below.

• The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree of a minimum of three years duration or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized university.
• Students in the final year of their Bachelor's degree or awaiting their results are also eligible to apply.
• There is n o specific CGPA or percentage mentioned that has to be obtained in graduation. No age limit has been specified to appear for the XAT exam 2024.
• One of the key points prescribed by XLRI  in XAT eligibility criteria is that the candidates must declare and maintain a valid and unique email account and phone number throughout the selection process.

Note- The mere fulfilment of minimum XAT eligibility criteria will not ensure consideration for shortlisting by XLRI, SPJIMR, XIMB, IMT, TAPMI, or other B-schools in which the applicant applies for admission.

XAT exam 2024 registration process commenced on July 15, 2024. Candidates can fill out the XAT 2024 application form in online at xatonline.in by December 10, 2023. Candidates applying for the XAT exam 2024 can pay the XAT exam fee of Rs 2100 (XAT exam fee for all categories- General, SC, ST, PWD, OBC, etc.). Those who are interested in XLRI programmes will have to pay an additional fee of Rs. 200/- each.

Correction in XAT Exam 2024 application:

To change the test city preference, candidates can write to admis@xlri.ac.in mentioning their XAT exam ID, Father's Name, Date of Birth, chosen exam city, and updated city latest by the date specified by XLRI. This XAT exam form correction facility is active from November 29 to 30. The change of test city option is provisional and XLRI will take the final decision on it.

Application Fees

As per the XAT exam pattern, it will have five sections - Decision-making, Verbal and Logical Ability, Data Interpretation and Quantitative Ability (DI & QA), General Knowledge and Essay Writing section. The XAT 2024 exam pattern states that it will have objective (multiple choice questions) questions and one subjective question.

XLRI released the official free XAT exam 2024 mock test in online mode at xatonline.in. Candidates can take the XAT exam mock test from November 27 to December 1. To ace in XAT 2024, candidates are advised to appear for the mock test which was released by the conducting body. Mock Test helps candidates understand the XAT exam pattern and design of the online XAT test.

How to access the XAT 2024 mock test?

Follow the steps below to access the mock test of the XAT exam 2024,

• Open the official website - xatonline.in
• Click on the "Mock Test" link on the web page
• A new window will open and click on the "Sign In" button (No need to use login credentials)
• Again a new window will open. Read the instructions carefully and click on the "Next" button.

• Now, read the declaration and click on the "I am ready to begin" button to start the test.
• The XAT 2024 mock test window will look like the image below,

XAT exam amit card will be issued on the official website on December 20, 2023, in online mode. XAT 2024 admit card includes all the details pertaining to the entrance test such as XAT exam centre details, candidate’s roll number, reporting time, and exam day guidelines. Candidates can download the admit card for XAT after entering their registered email ID and password.

• Enter the email ID and password.

*One photograph must be pasted after downloading the XAT admit card. It must match the photograph uploaded with the application form for XAT 2024. Test takers must keep a copy of the XAT admit card until the entire admission process gets over as it will be required at every stage.

XAT 2024 exam day guidelines

• Carry the XAT admit card along with a valid photo ID as specified.
• Past a photograph on the admit card XAT and put the signature in the given space in front of the invigilator in the exam hall
• Arrive early and report at the time given on the XAT admit card
• Do not carry any prohibited items like electronic or communication devices, stationary etc.

XLRI Jamshedpur will open the window to raise objections against the XAT exam answer key in the third week of January 2024 in online mode. It will also release the XAT response sheet on its official website, xatonline.in. In order to download the response sheet of XAT 2024, candidates have to enter their XAT ID and password.

The answer key of XAT 2024 will be released only after the release of the XAT response sheet.  Candidates have to visit the official website of XLRI to download the XAT 2024 answer key.

Previous Year XAT Question Papers with Answer Key & Solutions

Xavier School of Management (XLRI) will declare the result of the XAT exam 2024 on January 31, 2024, in online mode. Candidates can download their XAT 2024 scorecard and check their sectional and overall percentile till March 31, 2024. 

XLRI will also send the hard copy of the XAT 2024 scorecard to the candidate’s residence but the applicant needs to pay Rs 300 in the form of a Demand Draft (DD) in favour of XLRI Jamshedpur, payable at Jamshedpur. As the result of the XAT exam is declared, the cutoff to shortlist candidates for GD, and PI will soon be released by XLRI and other member institutes.

How to check the XAT 2024 Result?

The detailed step-by-step process to check the result is given below,

• Go to the XAT official website - xatonline.in
• Click on the login tab on the page.
• Type the registered email and Password.
• Click on the "Score Card" button.
• The result will appear on the display.
• Download and take two or three printouts of the same.

What after the XAT exam result?

Candidates must keep a copy of the scorecard cum result of XAT 2024 till the admissions are over. The scores of XAT will be used by all XLRI campuses and 160 B-schools for admissions to their management programmes. XAT 2024 is the screening test based on which candidates will be shortlisted for the selection process comprising GD and PI.

XAT 2024 cutoff will be released by XLRI Jamshedpur for each program. Candidates who meet the cut off prescribed by the institute will have to appear for the further round of selection procedures which include group discussion and personal interview rounds. 

The cutoff of the XAT exam is the minimum marks to be scored by a candidate in order to qualify for the admission process. The cutoff is determined by some important factors which include the 

• difficulty level of the XAT exam
• no, of candidates appearing 
• the availability of seats, and
• previous year's cut off trends. 

If a candidate meets the XAT exam 2024 cutoff criterion, she/he will be shortlisted for the selection rounds- Group Discussion and Personal Interview. 

The XAT exam cutoff is usually different at each institute. Meeting the XAT cutoff criterion is the first stage of the admission process. If the test taker qualifies, s/he attends GD, WAT, and PI. The overall performance in each round along with the candidates' academic scores will be considered before the final selection.

NOTE: Around 75,000 candidates appear for the exam. So, it’s a huge challenge to get shortlisted as the competition is really high.

Mode of Counselling: Offline

Candidates who will qualify for the XAT cutoff will have to take part in XAT 2024 counselling. In order to participate in XAT counselling, they will have to first register for the counselling process by entering the login credentials on the official website after which they are required to pay the respective counselling fee. More than 160 institutes will participate in the XAT 2024 counselling process. Check the XAT counselling process and the steps for registration for the same:

Step 4: After the registration is done, the candidates have to choose and lock their preferred programme in the institute

Step 5: The final allotment of seats will be done on the basis of the candidates’ choice filling and locking.

The selection procedure of the XAT exam will usually start in the month of February 2024 after the announcement of the result. The selection process includes GD, Essay Writing, and Personal Interview. First, XLRI, its 11-member institutes and other XAT participating institutes shortlist the test takers on the basis of cutoff. Then the shortlisted one attends the mentioned selection rounds. Many institutes do not conduct all three rounds. Past academic scores, work experience (if any), profile, and XAT score will be considered along with the performance in XAT selection rounds for the final admission.

 The XAT Exam 2024 selection process includes the following steps,

• Appear for XAT exam 2024
• Candidate's shortlisting based on the cut off of participating institutes.
• Selection rounds - Group Discussion / Essay Writing & Personal Interview
• Final selection will be done on the basis of the candidate's performance in the selection rounds.

When a candidate appears for GD and PI rounds, his/her communication skills, self-confidence, interaction skills, etc. are checked. If s/he performs well and meets the standards of the respective institute, the chances of admission increase. However, writing test, XAT exam score, and some other factors such as class 10, 12^th and graduation score, professional work experience, etc. are also considered for final admission.
