About SNAP 2018

Symbiosis National Aptitude Test, popular as SNAP is a national-level management entrance test, administered by Symbiosis International (Deemed University) for admission to its 15 institutes offering management programmes. SNAP 2018 was an online exam of two-hour duration. The total number of seats for the Post Graduate Management programme through SNAP scores is around 1,867. SNAP 2018 was successfully conducted on December 16 between 2 PM- 4 PM. The SNAP 2018 result has been declared on January 10, 2019.

SNAP, the national-level management entrance exam is conducted by Symbiosis International (Deemed University) for admission to its 15 institutes. They prescribe the SNAP 2018 eligibility criteria. According to the SNAP eligibility criteria 2018, candidates should meet the following criteria-

  • A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised college/university with at least 50 per cent aggregate marks.
  • Scheduled caste/scheduled tribe category candidates should secure a minimum of 45 per cent in their graduation from any recognised institute across disciplines.
  • Candidates who have obtained foreign degrees/qualifications should it verified from AIU before applying for admission to any programme under Symbiosis University.
  • The final year graduation students are also eligible to apply for SNAP exam. However, they must complete their bachelor's degree with the requisite aggregate percentage or equivalent CGPA during admission.

The application process for SNAP 2018 was released by Symbiosis International (Deemed University) on August 28, 2018. The last date to apply was November 28, 2018. 

Things to Remember- 

  • Prospective test takers must provide their correct name, DOB (date of birth), mobile number and email address as these details are not editable once the SNAP registration process is complete.
  • Candidates will not be able to change of test city requests once they have completed their SNAP online test 2018 payment.
  • Candidates should be cautious at the time of uploading their latest scanned colour passport size photo at the time of online registration for SNAP test as it should not be more than 3 months old.
  • All the information entered by the aspirants should be accurate.

Registration Fee-

The SNAP registration amount (Rs. 1750) can be paid through i) Demand Draft ii) Indian Bank Gateway iii) Axis Bank Gateway iv) Billdesk Gateway.

Payment through demand draft- Firstly, examinees should choose the mode of Payment as 'DD Payment' in "Make Payment" tab. 

Then a demand draft (DD) of Rs. 2065 (SNAP Application Fee- Rs.1750 and Rs. 315 as GST @18%) needs to be drawn from any Nationalized Bank in favour of “Symbiosis Test Secretariat” payable at Pune. A print of the payment advice form is a mandate after filling in the DD Details including candidates' signature. Then it has to be sent along with the DD to the Symbiosis Test Secretariat only at,

SNAP E-books and Sample Papers

SNAP 2018 is an online (computer-based) exam consisting four sections and carrying 130 multiple choice questions. The total score adds up to 150 (differential marking scheme).

Scoring Scheme: Each question carries one mark and special questions carry 2 marks for each question. Every correct answer will give one mark and each incorrect response will deduct 25 percent of the allotted marks.

SNAP 2018 Mock Test

Symbiosis International (Deemed University) had released the SNAP 2018 Mock Test for the applicants who had completed the process by paying the requisite application fee. Candidates received the login details for the SNAP 2018 mock test by December 10, 2018. The last date to register was December 9. The mock test of SNAP 2018 was conducted from December 11 to 14, 2018, in six-time slots, starting from 9 AM till 9.30 PM. According to the exam authorities, the SNAP 2018 mock test provided the real-time test-taking experience to candidates. 

The SNAP 2018 admit card was released online by Symbiosis International (Deemed University) on December 1, 2018. Following are the credentials that would be mentioned in the SNAP admit card 2018-

  • Candidate’s name, roll number

  • Exam date & time

  • Test venue, address of the venue, and Test venue code

  • Exam day Instructions

On the day of the exam, candidates had to carry the admit card of SNAP 2018 as well as a photo ID proof. The IDs that can be produced for verification purpose are passport/PAN card/voter ID card/driving license/Aadhaar card (UID)/ credit card (photo attached)/ college ID card.

SNAP 2018 Answer Key

In a first, Symbiosis International (Deemed University) has released the SNAP 2018 Answer Key for the test takers. Candidates have to login to the official website through their SNAP 2018 credentials and check the Answer Keys of SNAP 2018. They can also file for challenges till December 21, 2018. For each answer challenge, candidates have to pay Rs. 590 (Rs. 500 + 18 per cent GST). If the challenge is found to be valid, the amount of Rs. 500 (excluding the GST would be refunded). 

A scrutiny committee set up by SIU would review each and every challenged question. SIU will communicate the decision of the challenged questions by email before January 10, 2019, to all those candidates who had submitted the challenges against the SNAP 2018 answer keys and paid the amount of challenge form. 

Candidates have to ensure that they put a valid reason or explanation in the Remarks column with each SNAP 2018 answer key challenge. Ambiguous challenge will not be considered. The decision of the SIU committee will be final.

The SNAP 2018 result has been declared on January 10, 2019. The SNAP 2018 result has been made available via online mode only and candidates would be able to check their scores (section-wise, scaled scores) secured in the exam. SNAP User ID and Password should be handy to check the result of SNAP 2018.  The shortlisted candidates will be called for further selection rounds, namely General Exercise (GE), Personal Introduction (PI), and Writing Ability Test (WAT). 

The SNAP result 2018 will display the following information:

  • Overall score
  • Sectional scores
  • Shortlist status
  • Name of candidate
  • Candidate’s roll number
  • Candidate’s photograph and signature
  • The official stamp of the SNAP conducting authority

There are 15 participating institutes of SNAP 2018 across India which will accept SNAP 2018 scores and all of them will shortlist candidates on the basis of result and their prescribed cutoff score.

The cutoff of SNAP 2018 is the minimum marks or percentile that a candidate requires to obtain to get shortlisted for the selection process. There are 15 participating institutes of SIU which accept the SNAP score for the admission procedure. Each institute prescribes a different cutoff depending on their admission requirements.

The selection process of SNAP 2018 comprises of 3 steps, namely, Group Exercise (GE), Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interaction (PI). The admission of an aspirant is based on performance in SNAP exam, selection rounds and candidate’s profile (previous academic performance, work experience etc).
