PU MET 2023 Exam Dates: Application Process, Result, Merit List, Answer Key

Panjab University, Chandigarh will conduct PU MET 2023 for candidates seeking admission to MBA programme at  the University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS) on April 16. PU MET will be held in offline mode at the university campus in Chandigarh. The candidates who interested in appearing for PU MET exam can apply at the official website, met.puchd.ac.in by clicking the online  registration.  The last date to fill the PU MET application form is March 20.

The Panjab University started the registration process for PU MET on January 30. Candidates can register for Punjab University Management Entrance Test (PU MET) in only mode only. They need pay the PU exam fee for successful submission of application. The PU registration fee for general category candidates is Rs 2395 while SC/ST/PwD applicants will have to pay Rs 1198 as exam fee. The last day to pay fee online and through SBI challan is March 27.

PU MET is a university-level entrance examination conducted for admission to the MBA program of Panjab University. Authorities conducted PU MET exam of two hours consisting of 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). 

The total number of seats offered by Panjab University is 200 for its postgraduate management programme through PU MET 2023. MBA aspirants with a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized institute or university are eligible to appear for PU MET 2023. 

Candidates who will appear for the PU MET 2023 MBA entrance test can take admission to various specializations offered at Panjab University. The list of such specializations is- MBA in Retail Management, MBA in Banking, MBA in Pharmaceutical Management, etc. 

The questions asked as per the exam pattern of PU MET 2023 are multiple-choice based on sections namely- Data Interpretation and Problem Solving, Numerical Ability, Verbal Ability/Reasoning, English Comprehension, General Knowledge and Economics, and Business Environment Awareness. The duration of the PU MET exam is 120 minutes and the exam centre is Chandigarh only.

Panjab University prescribes the eligibility criteria of PU MET 2023 which is different for various management programmes at the university. However, the PU MET 2023 eligibility criteria remain the same and are stated below-

• Candidates must obtain a Bachelor’s or Master Degree with at least 50 per cent aggregate score (45 per cent for SC/ST/BC/PwD candidates) in any discipline from a recognised university.
• The final year degree candidates are eligible to apply and can take the written test provisionally as well, but the result of the qualifying examination should be submitted later, as and when required.
• Age Limit: No mention has been made age in the official prospectus of PU MET 2023 regarding eligibility criteria.

Panjab University, Chandigarh started the registration process for PU MET 2023 on January 30. The last date for deposit of fee in any branch of State bank of India (SBI) using website generated challan/ through online mode is March 27. The last date for uploading of signature, photograph is March 31.

The last date for receiving a copy of the filled Application Form printout along with the requisite documents (if any) at UIAMS by speed post/ by hand/ registered post is April 6.

After completing the PU MET registration 2023 in online mode, prospective test-takers need to submit a copy of the printout of their filled application form along with the required documents (if any) to

by registered post/speed post or by hand on the stipulated date/s as mentioned by Panjab University. PU MET applicants will be allowed to correct their photograph, signature, and any other information (for completed forms only).

Application Fee: 

Aspiring test-takers belonging to the General category need to pay Rs. 2,395 as PU MET registration/application fee 2023, however, the SC/ST/Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates will have to pay Rs. 1,198 in the State Bank of India using website-generated challan.

The examination fee once paid, shall not be refunded under any circumstances. If after 24 Hrs. of printing the fee slip, the required details are not found in the bank for depositing the application fee of PU MET 2023, applicants need to write to met@pu.ac.in mentioning their problem along with Application number, Full Name, and Date of Birth.

There is one common form for all the management programmes offered at UIAMS and applicants need to fill a single form for all courses. Prior to filing the application form for PU MET 2023, candidates should check the eligibility criteria to avoid the cancellation of candidature.

Application Fees

Panjab University formulates the PU MET exam pattern. According to the exam pattern of PU MET 2023, the offline entrance exam will be of two hours duration  and consisted of 200 multiple-choice questions having four options A, B, C & D. The exam was conducted at  the university campus in Chandigarh.

The sections of the PU MET exam includes:

• Economics and Business Environment Awareness
• General Knowledge
• English Comprehension
• Data Interpretation and Problem Solving
• Numerical Ability
• Verbal Ability/ Reasoning

Scheme of Scoring – According to the exam pattern of PU MET 2023, the primary marking component of the exam is negative marking; 1/4th of the total marks allotted to a particular question will be deducted for every incorrect answer. 1 mark would be awarded for every correct answer. PU MET scores will carry 85 per cent weightage pertaining to the selection of candidates.

Panjab University will issue the PU MET 2023 admit card on April 11 in online mode. The registered candidates need to download the PU MET 2023 admit card using their web-account credentials (Login ID and Password).

Test takers are advised to keep their admit cards of PU MET 2023 safe until the admission process draws a conclusion and also produce the same on the exam day.

Panjab University will release the PUMET 2023 answer key after the test date. The answer key will include all the details like the questions and their respective correct answer options. For any discrepancy pertaining to answers, the test takers can file their objections in three methods either by filling the form or sending emails or information the exam authorities on phone number.

Candidates can challenge the answer key by paying the objection fee. This process has to be completed within 10 days after the declaration of the final result (after the completion of group discussion and personal interview). If the objection is found to be correct, it will get rectified on immediate effect.

The Panjab University will announce the result of PU MET 2023 on the official website. The PU MET 2023 result will be declared in the form of merit list in online mode only. For checking results, test-takers will need to enter their login credentials, precisely ID and Password created during the registration.

Panjab University does not prescribe any PU MET 2023 cutoff for choosing candidates. The test takers will need to secure a valid score, there is no concept of considering PUMET cutoff 2023. The cutoff will be decided by the participating institutes that will accept PUMET 2023 scores for the admission process. Aspirants need to contact the respective college(s) to get the cutoff scores.

Panjab University formulates the norms of the PU MET 2023 selection process. The procedure begins with the PUMET exam. Only the qualified test-takers were called for further PU MET 2023 selection process, namely Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Final admission to management programmes will be based on the cumulative marks in all three (PU MET, GD, and PI). The University renders the following weightage to each of the admission components.

PU MET Selection Process 2023

Post GD and PI rounds, provisional merit list of shortlisted candidates was prepared for counseling. The candidates appeared for Panjab University MBA admission counselling between July 25 and July 27 according to their category and merit rank.

For NRI candidates- NRI candidates are eligible to appear for the PU MET exam. If they are not in India at the time of exam but has filled the application form of PU MET 2023, can submit a valid score of GMAT which will be treated at par with the combined marks of the Written Test (MET-2023) conducted by Panjab University and Group Discussion & Personal Interview conducted by University Institute of Applied Management Sciences, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
