PU MET 2023 Exam Dates: Application Process, Result, Merit List, Answer Key

PU MET Exam 2023: Panjab University (PU) Chandigarh has released the list of candidates shortlisted for GD/PI to be held at University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS) . The PU will conduct the GD/PI over the several days, starting from May 15 up to May 24. The shortlisted candidates are required to appear for the GD/PI as per the allotted date and time. 

All candidates should bring a recent photograph and the photocopies of all their certificates/testimonials duly attested along with the original certificates for verification at the time of GD/PI. The comprehensive PU MET 2023 result will be released after the Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Candidates can download their PU MET result 2023 at the official website of PU MET, met.uchd.ac.in.

PU MET is a university-level entrance examination for admission to the MBA program of Panjab University.  PU MET is an objective type test, consisting of 200 multiple choice questions.  There are 200 MBA seats that will be filled through PU MET entrance exam. The Panjab University offers MBA courses with various specialisations in Retail Management. Banking, Pharmaceutical Management, etc.

The questions asked as per the exam pattern of PU MET 2023 are multiple-choice based on sections namely- Data Interpretation and Problem Solving, Numerical Ability, Verbal Ability/Reasoning, English Comprehension, General Knowledge and Economics, and Business Environment Awareness. The duration of the PU MET exam is 120 minutes and the exam centre is in Chandigarh only.

Panjab University prescribes the eligibility criteria of PU MET 2023 which is different for various management programmes at the university. However, the PU MET 2023 eligibility criteria remain the same and are stated below-

• Candidates must obtain a Bachelor’s or Master Degree with at least 50 per cent aggregate score (45 per cent for SC/ST/BC/PwD candidates) in any discipline from a recognised university.
• The final year degree candidates are eligible to apply and can take the written test provisionally as well, but the result of the qualifying examination should be submitted later, as and when required.
• Age Limit: No mention has been made age in the official prospectus of PU MET 2023 regarding eligibility criteria.

Panjab University, Chandigarh invites application for PU MET in online mode, within the deadline. Applications should be sent along with the exam fees to apply successfully. Candidates can pay the fee through State bank of India (SBI) using website generated challan/ through online mode.

After completing the PU MET registration 2023 in online mode, prospective test-takers need to submit a hard copy of the filled application form along with the required documents (if any) by registered post/speed post or by hand to the following address.

Candidates are advised to fill all the details carefully and lock the section. Once they lock a section, they will not be allowed to change information in that section.

Application Fee: 

Aspiring test-takers belonging to the General category need to pay Rs. 2,395 as PU MET registration/application fee 2023, however, the SC/ST/Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates will have to pay Rs. 1,198 in the State Bank of India using website-generated challan.

The examination fee once paid, shall not be refunded under any circumstances. If after 24 Hrs. of printing the fee slip, the required details are not found in the bank for depositing the application fee of PU MET 2023, applicants need to write to met@pu.ac.in mentioning their problem along with Application number, Full Name, and Date of Birth.

There is one common form for all the management programmes offered at UIAMS and applicants need to fill a single form for all courses. Prior to filing the application form for PU MET 2023, candidates should check the eligibility criteria to avoid the cancellation of candidature.

Application Fees

Panjab University formulates the PU MET exam pattern. According to the exam pattern of PU MET 2023, the offline entrance exam will be of two hours duration  and will have 200 multiple-choice questions with four options A, B, C & D. The exam will be conducted at  the university campus in Chandigarh.

The sections of the PU MET exam includes:

• Economics and Business Environment Awareness
• General Knowledge
• English Comprehension
• Data Interpretation and Problem Solving
• Numerical Ability
• Verbal Ability/ Reasoning

Scheme of Scoring – According to the exam pattern of PU MET 2023, the primary marking component of the exam is negative marking; 1/4th of the total marks allotted to a particular question will be deducted for every incorrect answer. 1 mark would be awarded for every correct answer. PU MET scores will carry 85 per cent weightage pertaining to the selection of candidates.

Panjab University will issue the PU MET 2023 admit card on April 18 in online mode. The registered candidates need to download the PU MET 2023 admit card using their web-account credentials (Login ID and Password).

Test takers are advised to keep their admit cards of PU MET 2023 safe until the admission process draws a conclusion and also produce the same on the exam day.

Panjab University will release the PUMET 2023 answer key after the test date. The answer key will include all the details like the questions and their respective correct answer options. For any discrepancy pertaining to answers, the test takers can file their objections in three methods either by filling the form or sending emails or information the exam authorities on phone number.

Candidates can challenge the answer key by paying the objection fee. This process has to be completed within 10 days after the declaration of the final result (after the completion of group discussion and personal interview). If the objection is found to be correct, it will get rectified on immediate effect.

The Panjab University has announced the schedule of GD/PI and will release PU MET result 2023 after the GD/PI.  Candidates who appeared in the entrance exam can expect PU MET result in the last week of May 2023. PU MET result will be in the form of merit list and can be downloaded at the official website, using the login credentials. 

Panjab University (PU) Chandigarh will release, instead of cutoff, the final merit list of candidates shortlisted for admission. Admission for PU MBA course will be made on the basis of merit determined by scores obtained by the candidates in PU MET entrance exam and Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). 

All candidates regardless of reserved categories and NRI category will, first of all, be considered in General category.  But they will compete within their respective categories following the same criteria. Reservation to the reserved category candidates will be given as per the approved norms of Panjab University.

Panjab University formulates the norms of the PU MET 2023 selection process. The procedure begins with the PUMET exam. Only the qualified test-takers were called for further PU MET 2023 selection process, namely Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Final admission to management programmes will be based on the cumulative marks in all three (PU MET, GD, and PI). The University renders the following weightage to each of the admission components.

PU MET Selection Process 2023

Post GD and PI rounds, provisional merit list of shortlisted candidates was prepared for counseling. The candidates appeared for Panjab University MBA admission counselling between July 25 and July 27 according to their category and merit rank.

For NRI candidates- NRI candidates are eligible to appear for the PU MET exam. If they are not in India at the time of exam but has filled the application form of PU MET 2023, can submit a valid score of GMAT which will be treated at par with the combined marks of the Written Test (MET-2023) conducted by Panjab University and Group Discussion & Personal Interview conducted by University Institute of Applied Management Sciences, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
