More than 600 B-schools across India accept MAT score for their admission process. Candidates are shortlisted first on the basis of their MAT score and called for the selection procedure – Writing test, GD, and PI. The selection rounds may differ from institute to institute.
The B-schools which accept MAT scores will shortlist the candidates as per their prescribed cutoff criterion. The MAT participating institutes will release their cutoff after the declaration of the result. Basically, the candidates who meet the cutoff criterion are shortlisted for the selection process.
The MAT 2019 cutoff can either be in the form of percentile or marks. The cutoff score ranges from 250 to 700 vary from institute to institute.
The cutoff depends on various factors including Difficulty level of the test, total number of test takers, total number of seats offered by an institute, etc.
A written test, Group Discussion (GD), and a Personal Interview (PI) is a part of the MAT 2019 selection process. The writing test is also known as WAT (Writing Ability test).
Not all the MAT participating institute conduct all three selection rounds. Final admission is offered on the basis of the candidate’s performance in all the rounds of MAT 2019 selection process.
Some institutes may also consider the past academic records (marks in 10th, 12th, and graduation), work experience and other achievements before offering the final admission.
GD and PI are the integral part of MAT selection process 2019. These rounds are usually conducted to check the interaction & communication skills and self-confidence of the candidates.
These rounds are to check the candidate's knowledge of current affairs, his or her views on a certain topic or situation and, how s/he reacts or responds to the questions they are unaware of.
Candidates need to perform almost equally well in these rounds as a certain weightage is given to these rounds in the final merit list.

MAT is conducted four times in a year for the management courses MBA and PGDMA by All India Management Association. PBT is paper-based MAT test and CBT is computer based MAT test.
Let's see the differences and possibilities in both these tests.
1. The tentative dates of PBT are as follows:-
Starting of Registration will take place in the second week of December 2019 and will end in the first week of February 2020. The admit card will be made available in the 2nd week of February 2020 and the exam will tentatively happen in the third week of February 2020. The results will be announced in the last week of February 2020.
The only difference in these dates will occur for CBT will be that the availability of the admit card and the exam will be delayed by a week than PBT. So, CBT admit card will come out in the 3rd week of February and 4th week of February is when the exam will happen.
Counselling for both will begin in March.
2. The time for PBT will be pre-scheduled and fixed and the CBT exam will take place in slots.
3. The major difference between both is that of offline and online and that can create all the difference. Technical glitches can take place in CBT but not in PBT.
4. Answer correction in PBT is done by erasing and marking a new one and in CBT, by using the navigation tool.
5. Other than all these, the pattern of the question paper, marking, duration of the test and even the level of difficulty is the same.
You can review these points and choose according to your comfort. If you plan on giving both, which a fabulous option given by AIMA, you can choose the score you want to go ahead with. It would be your call.
The fees for both the tests is also the same but if you give it combines, you will have to pay a little less than the double of the price.
If you are better at handling computers and using navigation tools, scrolling, you can go for CBT. If you get confused with the same, you can choose to give PBT. Giving both is always a win-win, because you get the opportunity to avail your score!
Also assess your reading skills. Are you better at reading on screen or paper? This includes both your speed and accuracy.
Hope this helps. All the best!
You can easily get a scholarship if you get good marks in XAT and MAT exams from different colleges, As they offer scholarship in the form of fees reduction to those students who have got a good marks in different management entrance exam for example college like BIMTECH GREATER NOIDA offers scholarship to students who got more than 85 percentile in CAT, So you start finding those colleges who provides this scholarship than apply to that college and than should ask for the scholarship according to your marks or percentile.
I hope the above information is beneficial for you.
All the best.
Hope you are doing well.
Since the exam is scheduled in a week a lot of candidates would be trying to download the admit card at the same time, and so the interface might be facing some technical issues. Many candidates are facing the same problem. I would suggest you to wait until the end of the day and try downloading your admit card again.
Even If issues still persist, please reach out to them and mail them your issue at email@example.com or call them at 011-47673000.
