 XLRI Jamshedpur on April 2, 2016 conducted its 60th annual convocation ceremony for the post graduate students, at its campus. The guests of the ceremony were Mr. T. V. Narendran, Chairman, Board of Governors at XLRI & MD - Tata Steel India and South East Asia, Fr. E Abraham S.J., Director of XLRI, Dr. Pranabesh Ray, Dean, Academics at XLRI and other dignitaries.

A total of 587 XLRI students received their graduating certificates and medals including – 361 students of Postgraduate Programmes in Management - BM and HRM of batch 2014-16; 119 students of 2015 batch of 15-months PGDM (General Management) Programme; 20 students of Fellow Program in Management (FPM) from Jamshedpur Campus and 70 students of 2013–16 batch of PGDM-BM Programme (Part Time).

 

This year, the second batch of the 2014-16 batch of the Global MBA Programme launched by XLRI in partnership with Weatherhead School of Management, USA and School of Economics & Management of Tongji University Shanghai, China also received their graduating certificates. 17 Indian students will be awarded the certificates and medals from their home school - XLRI and a joint certification from the 3-schools’ consortium at the Convocation.

 

Mr. T. V. Narendran, Chairman, Board of Governors at XLRI said, “I encourage you to develop a habit of lifelong learning so that you continue to be an asset to your organisation and the society at large. Always remember to serve the society around you with compassion, honesty and integrity.”

 

In continuation of forty-seven years tradition, XLRI conferred the prestigious ‘Sir Jehangir Ghandy Medal for Social and Industrial Peace’ on Dr. Sunil Kant Munjal, Jt. Managing Director of Hero MotoCorp & Chairman, Hero Corporate Services Pvt. Ltd.

 

Accepting the medal Dr. Munjal said, “I humbly accept this great honour. This recognition is not mine alone; this is due to thousands of people within our organisations and those working with the organization.” He dedicated the medal to his father late B M Munjal, who incidentally was the recipient of the same award about sixteen years ago.

 

Addressing the students Fr. E Abraham S.J., Director of XLRI said, “I would like to take this opportunity to express my most sincere congratulations to our 587 students who are graduating today. This is the largest batch that XLRI has ever had. “As you move on to the next phase of your work-life journey, strive to live the kind of life that XLRI envisions us to live – to be leaders who contribute their mite to their respective organisations and also have a sensitive social conscience.”

yes girish bro!! dont worry about ur future and dont  neglet ur future thoughts. I think you should remember onething in  your whole life, i.e  fix one goal and do hard work for that goal again and again and dont  compare with others by yourself but you should improve by yourself  and  once again all the best for your future.

There are 3 programmes in the XLRI. i.e., PGDM,FPM,

Yes you can get the admisiion in XLRI if you clear the eligibility:

Eligibility Criteria (For PGDM (Human Resource Management Programme)):-

  • Candidates should be holding a bachelor’s degree of minimum three years from any recognised university.

  • Admission Procedure:-

    • Candidates have to qualify/pass the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) conducted by XLRI or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT).
    • Candidates will be shortlisted based on the marks in these exams.
    • Shortlisted candidates have to appear in an interview, which is the final stage for the final selection.
  • Eligibility Criteria (For PGDM (Business Management Programme)):-
    • Candidates should be holding a bachelor’s degree of minimum three years from any recognised university.


    • Admission Procedure:-

      • Candidates have to take XAT/GMAT Exams.
      • Shortlisting will happen on the basis of their performance in XAT/GMAT.
      • Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview, which is the final stage for admission.
  • Eligibility Criteria (For PGDM (General Management Programme)):-

    • Candidates must be holding a bachelor’s degree of minimum three years in any discipline.
    • Candidates must be employed in a full-time job and must have at least five years of managerial experience in an organisation of repute in the public, private or non-governmental sector as on the last week of March of the admission year.

    • Admission Procedure:-

      • Candidates have to appear in XAT/GMAT, and qualify in the same.
      • Candidates can apply for more than one programme. Such candidates may be called for multiple interviews and group discussions.
      • Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the XAT/GMAT by the last week of January of the admission year.
      • Factors like academic ability and relevant work experience will also be taken into consideration whilst preparing the shortlisted candidates for the interview.
      • Whilst preparing the final selection list after the personal interviews and group discussions, XAT performance, relevant work experience, academic ability, extra-curricular activities etc. are also taken into consideration.
  • Eligibility Criteria Fellow Programme in Management (FPM):-

    • Take XAT and qualify. Eligibility for XAT is as follows-

    • Candidates must be holding a postgraduate diploma from universities with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) with the bachelor's degree/ equivalent qualification with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates).


    • or,

      • Candidates must be holding an Integrated Master's Degree programme in any discipline, with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates), after completing higher secondary education (10+2) or equivalent.

    • or,

      • Candidates must be holding a BE/B.Tech degree or its equivalent with at least 60% marks (50%for SC/ST candidates) with two years of relevant work experience.
    • or,

      • Candidates must be having professional qualification like CA, ICWA or CS with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) may opt for appearing in XAT.
      • Candidates with any of the above qualification may submit UGC JRF/NET; GMAT / GRE / GATE scores for admission to FPM. Such candidates will not have to appear in XAT.
      • Candidates who have done their PGP from XLRI, any IIMs, FMS Delhi, MDI Gurgaon, XIM Bhubaneswar, IRMA, S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research, School of Management of IITs, TIFR, TISS, ISI and other comparable Institutes with a CQPI of at least 6.000/8.000 or equivalent will not have to appear in the XAT.
    • Admission Procedure:-

      • Candidates have to pay the registration fees for XAT through XAT/GMAT and appear for the same.
      • Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the XAT/GMAT.
      • Plus candidates meeting the eligibility criteria are also eligible for admission through UGC JRF/NET; GMAT / GRE / GATE scores.
      • Shortlisted candidates will have to appear for a personal interview for final selection.
    • Eligibility Criteria (For Executive Fellow Programme in Management (EXEC-FPM)):-

      • Candidates must have an MBA / Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) or equivalent or GMP/PGPX
    • or,

      • Candidates must have a one-year full-time residential programme in Management with 60% marks. Candidates from Premier B-Schools will be given preference.
      • Candidates must be currently employed in a full-time job.
      • Candidates must have at least five years of full-time executive/managerial/ teaching/research experience as on the last week of March of the admission year.
    • Admission Procedure:-

      • Candidates will have to apply online on the official website and have to submit the information along with the required documents and ‘Statement of Purpose (SOP)’.
      • Shortlisted candidates will have to appear for a personal interview for final selection.

I have got a call from XLRI on scoring 95.26 percentile. what are my chances of conversion? 10th/12th/B.tech - 95/82/8.63(cgpa)

Your final conversation will completely depend on your performance in the GD, WAT and PI rounds. 65% weightage  is given to the XAT percentile and the rest on the GD, WAT and PI rounds. You'll have different interviews based on the programs you've applied for. Since your academic record is pretty good so with some extra effort in the selection rounds you can easily get into the college. Moreover XLRI focuses much on general business questions as per the goings on in the economy. So just focus on that and you'll be good to go.

XLRI Jamshedpur admission procedure

Hello Shanta,

In order to be eligible to apply for XLRI Jamshedpur you need to have a bachelor's degree with minimum three years of duration and from recognized university. The criteria for NRI or foreign students is different and they are required to apply through GMAT or XAT entrance exam.

Getting selected after entrance exam you are required to appear for group discussion and personal interview.
