XAT 2019 - The last date to register for XAT 2019 with late fee has been extended by XLRI till December 9, 2018. The registration for XAT 2019 had started on August 20, 2018 and the last date to register was November 30, 2018. Management aspirants who wish to study at XLRI and other institutes which accept XAT score for the admission process must fill the application form online. Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur will conduct Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2019 on Sunday, January 6, 2019 (10 AM- 1 PM), on behalf of Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI). The entrance exam would be conducted in online mode. Around 90,000 students appear for the exam every year. XAT score is accepted by around 150 B-schools across the country. - Application Fee- The application fee has been revised from Rs. 1650/- to Rs. 1700/- from this year onwards (XAT 2019)
- Test Duration- XAT 2019 will be conducted in 3 hours duration. Until last year the exam duration was 3:35 hours.
- Change of XAT Test Centre- Agartala has been removed. Now the exam will be held across 46 cities in India. This year, XLRI has also allowed the candidates to change their XAT Test city preference. They can write an email to [email protected] mentioning their XAT ID, Date of Birth, Father's Name, City Chosen and updated city latest November 30, 2018. A candidate can apply for the change only once. Change of XAT Test City option is provisional and XLRI will have a final decision on it.
- Exam Pattern- Essay Writing section has been removed. Now the exam has four sections. They are Verbal and Logical Ability (VA & LR), Decision Making (DM), Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation (QA & DI), General Knowledge (GK).

Management aspirants who wish to apply for XAT 2019 must fulfil the eligibility criteria as prescribed by XLRI Jamshedpur.
Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognised University or Institute. The minimum duration of the programme has to be three years.
Final year graduation students are also eligible to apply provided they complete the programme within the stipulated schedule, which is most likely to be by June 2019.
Age limit - There is no age limit to apply for XAT 2019.
XAT Eligibility for NRI/Foreign candidates - NRI or foreign national candidates have to apply through GMAT scores.
The registration for XAT 2019 has been made available online from August 20, and the last date of the application process without late fee was November 30, 2018. Candidates who have still not registered can do so by paying late fee till December 7, 2018.
Steps for XAT Application Process - Management aspirants will be able to register for the exam on the official website of XAT. To register:
Candidates would need to enter their basic information like name and contact details.
Then, they will receive the login credentials through which they have to log in to the website and complete the XAT 2019 application process.
To complete the application process, candidates would need to enter the personal details, academic details, and professional details. They would also need to select XLRI programmes (optional), and upload photograph and signature.
And, the final step is paying the application fee.
XAT application process is conducted in two stages, ‘Early’ and ‘Late’ application stage. The application fee for the late stage is higher than that of the original window.

The XAT 2019 application fee is Rs. 1700 (without late fee). The application received after the deadline should include the late application fee of Rs. 2000/-
For each XLRI programmes, candidates need to pay an additional fee of Rs. 300. The late applications would be charged Rs. 500/-
For late application window, the application fee for XAT and XLRI programme is Rs. 2000 and Rs. 500 respectively.
Payment Modes - Candidates need to pay the fee online through Credit Cards, Debit Cards (RuPay / Visa / Master Card / Maestro), and Internet Banking.
XAT 2019 will be a computer-based test (online) of 180 minutes duration. The exam comprises of four sections, namely VA & LR, DM, QA & DI, and GK. The official exam pattern for XAT 2019 has removed the essay writing from XAT 2019 exam pattern. The following table explains the exam pattern of XAT 2019:

Marking Scheme - Each question will carry 1 mark and for each wrong answer, 1/4th of the total marks allotted to a question will be deducted. There is negative marking of 0.05 marks also involved for unattempted questions as well, beyond 8.
XLRI doesn’t release any specific syllabus for XAT. However, experts suggest a list of topics for the exam based on the previous years’ pattern. The below-given table explains further.

The admit card of XAT 2019 will be available online for the candidates who successfully fill the application form along with the application fee. The admit card will be available from December 20, 2018. Candidates would be able to download the admit card using their XAT ID and password. Without the XAT 2019 admit card, candidates will not be allowed to take the entrance test. XAT admit card 2019 will display the candidate’s name, date of birth and contact details along with the test centre name and address. Exam day instructions will also be given on the admit card of XAT 2019.
XAT 2019 will be conducted in 46 cities across India and not in any international cities. Last year, the exam was conducted in 47 cities pan India and two international cities. Also, candidates can also write to XLRI to change the preference of test centre. However, the institute will have a final decision on it. Here is the list of exam centres-

The official XAT 2019 answer key and OMR sheet will be released by XLRI in the second week of January. Candidates who would appear for the exam can check their number of correct answers and estimate their scores. It will allow them to know the list of probable colleges they’re likely to get a call from.
The result of XAT 2019 will be declared online on Thursday, January 31, 2019. Candidates would be able to check the result from the official website using their XAT id and password. The scorecards would be available for download from January 31 to March 31, 2019. XAT 2019 result will be announced in the form of the scorecard and the sectional, as well as the overall score, will be mentioned in it. XLRI Jamshedpur, the exam conducting body, will also send the hard copy of XAT 2019 scorecard to the candidates’ registered address. Candidates are advised to preserve the scorecard until the admission process gets over.
The cutoff for XLRI Jamshedpur will be released after the announcement of the result. The XAT 2019 cutoff percentile will depend on various factors such as difficulty level of the exam, the number of test takers and a number of seats offered in the programme among others. The cutoff of XAT 2019 will be based on these factors and will be declared separately by each of the XAT participating institutes. Check below the previous year cutoff of XAT:

The selection procedure of XAT 2019 for all the participating institutes will begin after the announcement of the result and cutoff. It’s important for the candidates to know that the selection process may vary from B-School to B-School. Usually, it’a two-step process - First, candidates would be shortlisted on the basis of their XAT score and institute’s cutoff. Then, the shortlisted candidates would be called for Writing Ability Test (WAT) or Essay Writing or Group Discussion/Group Activity and Personal Interview rounds.
Some participating institutes conduct GD and PI for the final selection while some conduct WAT and PI. It varies from institute to institute. The B-schools may also consider criteria like past academic records, work experience or the overall profile of a candidate.
