XAT Result 2019 - XLRI has announced XAT 2019 result on January 16, 2019. XLRI Jamshedpur conducted XAT 2019 on January 6, 2019. The XAT result 2019 is available in online mode only in the form of the scorecard. The scorecard is available for download from January 16 to March 31, 2019, and it carries the section-wise and overall percentage and percentiles. Candidates would need to use their login credentials - XAT ID and password to check XAT 2019 result. XLRI Jamshedpur has also shortlisted candidates for interview on January 16, 2019. The XAT 2019 result cum scorecard carries the following information:

XLRI Jamshedpur mentions, "For “Quantitative Ability”, “Verbal and Logical Ability” and “Decision Making” the “Percentile” represents candidate's relative performance position in the total population of the candidates in the particular section. For Total the “Percentile” indicates the candidate' relative performance position in the total population of the candidates. General Knowledge percentage and percentile are calculated independently and are not included in the calculation of “Total” percentage or percentile."

Each question carries one mark
For each incorrect answer, 0.25 marks deducted
Candidates can leave eight questions unanswered, beyond which 0.10 marks will be deducted for each unattended question.
Candidates are shortlisted by XLRI Jamshedpur and other XAT participating institutes on the basis of the XAT cutoff for the next round of selection process i.e. GD, PI and or WAT rounds.
The XLRI and other member institutes adopt separate selection procedures and no common admission process is conducted for these institutes through XAT scores.
Around 150 B-schools will accept the XAT 2019 score for MBA & PGDM admissions
In order to check if they have been shortlisted for interview round at XLRI Jamshedpur, candidates need to visit acad.xlri.ac.in/results. Next, they need to select the programme name from the drop-down menu. They can choose any of the below-mentioned programmes, such as:
1. Business Management (BM)
2. Human Resource Management (HRM)
3. General management program (GMP - Fifteen-month programme)
After entering their XAT ID, candidates can check if they have been shortlisted for interview round in the selected programme/s. The link was made available on January 16.
Once the XAT result 2019 is announced, candidates can apply for admissions to the XLRI member institutes, and follow the institute-specific XAT selection procedure for final admissions. Candidates need to follow the steps given below to take admission in a particular institute:

Now, wait for your XAT results and shortlist call. Every institute follows its own selection process and gives different weightage to each round.
A: No, it’s not. XLRI does not give exact 100 percentile to the candidates. Maximum 99.9+ percentile can be scored in the exam. According to the XAT officials, the percentile calculation system of XAT is slightly different and it does not enable candidate with the highest score to secure exact 100 percentile.
Q: Is it possible to get a negative score and percentile in XAT 2019?
A: Considering the marking scheme, you may get a negative score but it is not possible to secure a percentile in negative. In the XAT scorecard, the scaled score based on the normalisation process and the percentile will be given. Both scaled scores and percentiles will be in positive.
Q: When will XLRI Jamshedpur declare XAT 2019 cutoff for its programmes?
A: The XAT cutoff will be announced along with the XAT result by XLRI Jamshedpur. Based on the cutoff, the B-School will declare the shortlist for the selection rounds.
Q: When will XLRI Jamshedpur and other participating institutes declare the shortlist?
A: After few days of the declaration of XAT result, XLRI Jamshedpur and other participating institutes will declare the shortlist of candidates for GD/WAT and PI rounds. The selection procedure is likely to be held in the months of March-April 2019.

XAT Selection Procedure
The selection procedure of XAT 2019 will start after the declaration of the result and the cutoff. Based on the cutoff, candidates will be shortlisted for the XAT selection procedure which includes GD or Essay Writing and Personal Interview rounds. XLRI mentions, "Performance in XAT is one of several criteria used to judge the suitability of a candidate for admission to XLRI or any other XAT member institutes. Each institute independently decides how to use XAT Scores on the basis of its own policies. It is recommended that XAT Scores be used by institutions only for selecting candidates to their Post Graduate/ Fellow Programme (s) in Management."
Every institute follows its own selection procedure. The final selection will be based on the overall performance of a candidate in XAT 2019, GD, PI, Essay Writing, Past Academic scores, work experience (if any) and some other factors may also be considered such as achievements, gender diversity etc.
