Technical glitches were reported at various XAT exam centres of Gurgaon, Pune and Kolkata. Commenting on the snags, Career Launcher expert Arks Srinivas states, "There were glitches galore with reports suggesting that at least in two centres, the exam has to be cancelled because of technical reasons. Across the country, the conduct of the exam was much left to be desired. XAT 2018 was conducted in a  shoddy manner and there was no professionalism either at the centres or the way the exam (technical part) was handled."

XAT 2018 exam was divided into two parts. The first part was divided into three sections - Verbal and Logical Ability, Decision Making and Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation. The time allotted for this section was 170 minutes. The second part had General Awareness questions and a mandatory Essay Writing Section. The total time allotted to this section was 40 minutes.
