XAT 2017 exam pattern is similar to that of last years. XAT will be conducted in paper pencil based test of 3 hours duration. The exam is divided into 2 papers. From 2016 onwards the marking scheme of XAT changed. The test takers were allowed to leave out 13 questions beyond which there was negative marking of 0.05 marks. For each wrong answer, there was negative marking of 0.25 marks.

The result is expected to be declared in the second week of January 2017. The candidates have to download the score card from the website which will reveal the section-wise and overall scores and percentiles. The hard copy of the score card will also be sent to the candidates.

The paper pencil based exam is taken by around 90,000 candidates across India and considered to be a hard nut to crack in terms of difficulty level and competitiveness. As many as 148 B-schools will accept the scores of XAT 2017. This will include both Xavier Associate Management Institutes (XAMI) and other B-schools across India.
