XAT 2016 on January 3; Application process to start from August last week
XAT or the Xavier Aptitude Test is scheduled to be conducted on Sunday, January 3, 2016. Following the trend, XAT Exam will be held in the first Sunday of January. The application process will start from the last week of August, 2015, as per media reports.

The XAT application process is completely online. Till last year, the application fee was Rs. 1000. The scores of XAT are accepted by around 100 B-schools across India including XLRI Jamshedpur and other Xavier Associate Management Institutes (XAMI). Till last year, the application forms for XAT and XLRI were different. There might be a common application form this year. Last year, XAT 2015 was registered by around 90,000 candidates.
As per the exam pattern of XAT, it consists of both objective and subjective questions. There will be 2 papers in the test. The Paper 1 will include objective type multiple choice questions from 3 sections, Quantitative Ability, English Language & Logical Reasoning and Decision Making. The Paper 2 will be a mix of objective as well as subjective questions on General Knowledge and Essay Writing. While the duration of Paper 1 is 3 hours and the Paper 2 is 30 minutes.
As per the eligibility criteria, the candidates should be graduates in any discipline from a recognized university or institute. Final year students can also apply provided they fulfill the requisite eligibility criteria within the stipulated date.
Last year, XAT was conducted across 47 cities in India and 2 international cities in Dubai and Kathmandu. It is expected that the official notification will be released in the third or fourth Sunday of August, 2015.

I have 93% in 10th , 93% in state board; 55%in graduation(math). What percrntile in cat or xat will ensure me a good college ?
It depends, for IIMS you have to score minimum 99 percentile. It is the basic eligibility criteria for iims also they will see your previous marks and then only you are eligible for the further process.
If you want b school than you have to score above 80 or 85 percentile to get admissions in good and reputated institution .
Many college also go for group discussion to eliminate students.

what if i attempt only verbal ,lr and decision-making sections leaving quants in XAT.will be able to score 80 percentile.if yes ,please let me let me know the number of questions i should attempt in these sections.
Hello there. Hope you are doing good. I would like to tell you that if you are targetting top colleges accepting XAT score. Then, it is mandatory to clear sectional cutoffs. You need to score well in each section. Moreover, considering past year XAT scores, you should score approximately 26-27.5 score in order to fetch 80-85 percentile in XAT. You can attempt the questions based on accuracy accordingly.
