As the CAT 2016 correction window closes on October 5, 2016, Careers360 brings you details about what you can correct in your CAT 2016 application form. IIM Bangalore, the conducting body of CAT 2016, opened application correction option for the applicants to correct or edit their application forms from October 1 to 5, 2016.
According to IIM Bangalore officials, candidates will be able to edit or correct data entered in three specific fields including ‘Percentage of Marks scored’, ‘Work Experience’, and ‘Programmes Selected’ in the CAT 2016 application form.
The option brings a chance for aspirants to correct their mistakes, if any, and avoid rejection in any of the multiple stage selection process. CAT 2016 Convenor Prof. Rajendra Kumar Bandi said, “For the first time, CAT 2016 enables an option to correct mistakes, if any, discovered after submission of the CAT application. This option will be available on the CAT Application form Webpage from 1st to 5th of October, 2016.”
What can you change/edit in CAT 2016 application form?
Though, there is an option for correcting mistakes in the CAT 2016 application form, candidates will have an option to correct only 3 out of the five fields namely ‘Percentage of Marks’, ‘Work Experience’, and ‘Programmes Selected’. No other details can be edited by the applicants. Find below details of what can be edited in CAT application form.
1. Percentage or Marks scored: In this section, candidates have to enter their education details. The option for the correction is only limited to the percentage marks entered in the SSC/10th Std./Equivalent Details, HSC/12th/Equivalent/Diploma Course Details, Bachelor’s Degree Details, and Master‘s Degree Details, sub-sections. Besides the percentage, an applicant will not be allowed to change any of the fields or sub-sections. Take a look at the fields, marked in red which can be edited.
2. Work Experience: The second field that will be allowed to correct/edit is the ‘work experience’. A candidate will be allowed only to re-enter the number of work experience months. Look at the image, to check which field you can edit in this section.
3. Programmes Selected: In this section, applicants had to select any number of Programme Names along with the interview city for that programme. At the time of correction window, a candidate will only be allowed to change the preference of the programme at a particular IIM. However, there is no limit to select the number of programmes and IIMs. Check the image below for reference.
Who can correct/edit the CAT application form?
The option of the correction window, starting from October 1 to 5, 2016, is available for all the CAT 2016 applicants, who have submitted the application form along with the application fee.
Cautioning the aspirants who are yet to complete the process yet, Prof. Bandi said that surge in the number of registrations in the last couple of days may impact in the server and advised them to apply as early as possible. “Going by the trends of previous years, there will be a huge surge in the number of registrations in the last 2-3 days, which increases the load on the servers, and can potentially impact the server response time. Therefore, candidates are strongly advised to register early and avoid last minute inconvenience,” says Prof. Bandi.
Until last year, there was no option for the applicants to edit or correct the wrong information entered in the form. Even the CAT registration guide on the official website stated, “You cannot edit any details on the Application form after you have made the online payment.” The application process, which is going on at present is scheduled to end on September 22, at 5 pm.

You have to score a minimum of 99 percentile to get at least one good IIM call as your academics are not good. You could get a call from new IIMs if you score 99 percentile as the top tier IIMs will not give you a chance due to your poor acads.
Colleges you could look for are like IIM Nagpur, Kashipur, Shillong, etc. These colleges if you study well will provide you with a good package of 10-12 lpa.
Hope this helps. Thank you.
You will not be able to get any good business school like top IIMs, MDI, IIFT, or FMS. However, you can still get a good MBA tier 3/4 college if you increase your percentile to 98 percentile.
However, according to your grads, you must not be disappointed if you don't get a call at 99 because your marks are not good.
Hope for the best. Thank you.

Honestly there is a difference between just finishing the syllabus and preparing for selection in cat. See you can finish the syllabus if you'll work really hard in one month but trust me only unless you are extraordinary you won't be able to get selected for iims or other good colleges. But don't loose hope you should fight till last.
