TISSNET MBA Selection Procedure 2019 - TISS, Mumbai stipulates the selection procedure of TISSNET MBA 2019. The selection procedure comprises different stages including computer-based TISSNET MBA exam, Pre-Interview Test/Group Discussion(PIT/GD) and Personal Interview (PI). What are the deciding parameters for TISSNET MBA Selection Procedure 2019?
1. Nation Entrance Exam (TISSNET MBA)
To become eligible for the selection procedure, test takers need to qualify the TISSNET MBA 2019 exam. They need to secure at least 35 percent (for SC/ST) and 45 percent (for others) in the exam. Candidates who qualify will be called for the second round of the selection process.
2. Pre-Interview Test/Group Discussion (PIT/GD)
This is the second stage of the selection procedure. TISS also checks the analytical ability and communication skills of the candidates through a pre-interview test and group discussion.
3. Personal Interview (PI)
In order to know a candidate better before offering admission to his/her, TISS organises personal interviews. In this round, candidates are generally asked about their academics, work experience (if any), goals in life, current affairs etc.
To get admission in TISS, candidates need to perform almost equally well at all the stages. All the three stages of the selection process have different weightage. Although TISSNET MBA exam has the maximum weightage, the selection of a candidate is based on the cumulative performance in TISSNET MBA, PIT/GD and PI. Let’s see the marks given to each factor.

The selection weightage for TISS-NET, PIT and PI is considered for finalising the students out of all TISSNET test takers. The merit list will be prepared based on candidates’ merit and the preferences indicated by them at the time of filling up the online registration/ application form. Test takers need to mention the preferences carefully as it has implications in preparing the merit list.
Following table provides information on the weightage required for the making of final merit lists for General as well as for Reserved Category aspirants. NET – 40% ; PIT – 30% ; PI – 30%.

TISSNET MBA Selection Procedure 2019: What if candidates obtain similar scores?
Candidates should note that In case two test takers obtain the same aggregate score at the end of the selection procedure of TISSNET MBA 2019, their PI marks will be compared and the one with higher marks will get the final admission. However, if aspirants secure equal marks in PI round, their PIT marks will be compared and the one with higher score will get the opportunity to fetch a seat at the Institute. In the case of equal PIT score, their entrance exam marks will be compared. But, if there is a tie in all the mentioned sections, the one who is elder with respect to age will get the admission.
TISSNET MBA Selection Procedure 2019:
The candidates who get selected for admission at TISS, Mumbai, will have to submit the following documents to complete the admission process-
- Scanned copies of paid fees challan (fees can be paid at any SBI branch)
- Admission acceptance letter
- TISSNET MBA Scorecard 2019
- Original mark-sheets of X, XII standards and all the semesters of Bachelor’s degree. Please note that Mark-sheets, Grade sheets or certificates downloaded from the Internet shall not be accepted by the admission officials.
- Caste and Income certificate for SC/ST/OBC candidates
All the above-mentioned documents should be mailed to [email protected] as per the important dates of TISSNET MBA 2019 to convert the provisional admission to confirmed one at one of the campuses of Tata Institute of Social Sciences. Selected candidates will also have to undergo through pre-admission medical check-up conducted by the medical officers of the Institute itself. Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai has conducted TISSNET MBA 2019 in more than 100 TISSNET MBA exam centres 2019 distributed in 39 major cities pan India on January 13, 2019, in a single slot.
