SNAP 2021 Preparation Guide: Time Management
From May to July
In this period you should be thorough with the exam pattern and syllabus of SNAP. Analyze your strong and weak areas and tackle your difficult areas by referring to good reference books for SNAP. In these months you must focus on being thorough with your fundamentals. These months act as a foundation for your preparation of SNAP.
From August to October
These are the most crucial months of your preparation. Now you have to start solving past years' question papers and SNAP sample papers. As per the SNAP 2021 preparation guide, you need to solve diligently the question papers and analyze where you are making mistakes. The early you fix the mistakes, the better it is for you in the long run. This will help in the long run as in the last stages of the preparation, candidates will be able to just revise and not panic as they had rectified their mistakes in the early stages of their preparation.
Meanwhile, another part of the SNAP preparation guide is that candidates can determine at this stage whether they want to do self-study or take coaching. If one decides to do self-study then it has to be done in a very systematic way and the individual has to be self-disciplined. Moreover, if you decide to join coaching, then you must join it only after you have completed the syllabus completely. Coaching should be taken to learn tricks of the trade and should not be perceived as something where an individual will be made to learn everything within a span of a few months and he or she will simply crack the exam.
Also from October onwards, candidates must start solving SNAP question papers and must focus on speed and practice. Solve as many as questions possible by picking SNAP sample papers. Enroll with various coaching institutes for their mock test series and analyze the preparation level. Once you have finished the mock test analyses by taking note of the questions in which you took more time to solve and which took less time.
From November till D-Day
When SNAP is just round the corner focus on your accuracy. To determine one’s understanding of verbal, quantitative, and logical reasoning sections, you must take a full-fledged mock test. Taking SNAP mock test will help you assess your strong and weak areas. Further, it will help you analyze the areas which you solved quickly and the ones with which you faced difficulty and were time-consuming. These points can be considered while making an efficient study plan.
Once you formulate the study plan, taking the mock test can be of the following advantage:
Will help you familiarize yourself with the exam environment and format of the exam.
Will help you analyze the time that should be taken to complete the question paper
Will help you utilize the 60 minutes to solve 60 questions.
Also, this is the time to revise and not take up any new topic as you might just end up pressing the panic button. Take up the flash notes that you prepared earlier and quickly revise from them. These pointers will assist in recalling what you had studied in depth during the course of preparation.
Take note of the negative marking factor
Students must know the marking scheme of SNAP 2021. As per the marking scheme:
For every correct answer, 1 mark will be awarded
For every wrong answer, 25% (0.25) of the total marks will be deducted
The paper will be of total 60 marks
As SNAP involves negative marking for both special and MCQs, students must not attempt any question which they are not sure of. If you find a question to be difficult and time-consuming, leave that question and move to the next question without wasting any time. Increase your speed and accuracy by practicing a number of questions from sample papers and mock tests.
