i am in the last year of my b.com . I want to do an MBA . Can i know the total information ? My friend said there are 2 semester in 1st year . Total subjects are not 16 . The minimum passing subjects should be 12 otherwise no admission for 2nd year mba . Is that true?
If you are in your last year of graduation, you are eligible to apply for MBA program. Firstly I would like to tell you to go for factual information rather than what your friend is telling you about passing marks and subjects. Different B-Schools have different criteria.
Master of Business Administration or MBA is a two-year degree programme that provides an individual with a gateway to an abundance of job opportunities across India as well as overseas. It is divided into four semesters (2 years) in which summer internship as well as winter internships are to be completed based on college requirements.
Most of the B-Schools conduct their own MBA entrance exams in order to provide admissions to candidates in the two-year management programme. Whereas, some of the B-Schools admit candidates on the basis of national level tests like CAT / MAT / XAT / ATMA , etc. Admission tests of MBA can be divided into three levels.
I want to knw about the difference between PGDM & MBA? Which one is good for Government Job?
The difference between MBA and PGDM is given below :-
- MBA i.e Master of business administration is a degree course , and being a degree it is little more theoretical
- PGDM is graduate diploma in management i.e it is a diploma course, PGDM is accredited by Association of Indian Universities which makes it equivalent to MBA, it is more practical
So, there's not much difference between MBA and PGDM , the only thing is that MBA is a degree course while PGDM is a diploma course , also when it comes to job then there's no difference in the way companies treat a PGDM and an MBA , even your Career growth is similar for both the courses and it largely depends upon your performance.
But just to answer your question, MBA has little bit edge over PGDM as it has global acceptability for employment being a degree course rather than PGDM Diploma
