After days of internal consultations on MICAT score card declaration, MICA has agreed to announce MICAT 2016 score cards for all candidates who appeared for the exam. Talking to Careers360, MICA dean Dr Atish Chattopadhyay said that the technical team of MICAT is working out the processes and the MICAT scorecards will be made available to all test takers before the last day of registration of MICAT 2.
“We have decided to announce the MICAT score cards and the same will be made available to candidates before MICAT registration ends on January 31,” Dr Chattopadhyay said. He also added that the registration date for MICAT 2 may also be extended if the scorecard declaration takes a little more time.
Earlier, MICA officials had refused to announce the scorecards despite repeated requests from thousands of MICAT test takers. “Different managements at different times have unanimously agreed not to disclose the scores and thus keep the sanctity of MICAT as it is; given its nature,” Prof Shubhra P. Gaur, Chairperson, Admissions, MICA, Ahmedabad had said.
Subsequently, Careers360 had written an open letter demanding disclosure of MICAT score cards.
MICA Ahmedabad had announced the results of MICAT-I 2016 on December 23, a week prior to its original schedule of December 31, 2015. Along with the results, the exam officials had also announced the dates for its entrance test- MICAT II, the second round of admission process.
Since MICA has introduced two MICAT exams – MICAT I & MICAT –II, for the same intake of 180 seats this year, MICAT takers had doubted the evaluation process of MICAT-I; and many candidates had alleged that MICA has deliberately shortlisted less number of candidates to prompt MICAT-I takers to take the test again. The non-disclosure of score cards despite their repeated requests has further increased their doubts over MICAT evaluation process and its results.
MICAT II is scheduled to be conducted on Sunday, February 14, 2016, in a Computer- based mode.
