MICAT I Analysis 2018 - MICA Ahmedabad conducted its national level management entrance test- MICAT-I on December 17, 2017, for admissions to its Post Graduate Diploma in Communications (PGDM-C). As per the expert analysis by IMS Learning, the overall difficulty level of the exam can be marked as moderate to tough. Part 1: MICAT I Analysis 2018 - Descriptive

 

The total duration of this section was 35 minutes. First three questions of this section were inter-related. The topic of these questions was ' ‘Has education shifted from a learning perspective to one focusing on earning’. First two questions were based on argument where candidates had to write three points for and against the topic. These two questions carried 10 marks each.

In the third question, test takers had to write a 300-word passage stating how learning can be made an integral to education. According to the instructions, points for the this question should not include the points stated in the first two questions. Marks allotted for the third question was 20.

 

The fourth question was on story writing based on four pictures. Candidates had to write down a particular pictorial combination (A-B-C-D or D-C-B-A or any such combination) and explain it with the help of a story. Experts mention, "The pictures were related to a scene of a rabbit in a gift box, a globe with pins stuck all over it, a man kayaking in a beautiful lake surrounded by trees, and a photo of people cycling." This question carried 40 marks.

 

Part 2: MICAT I 2018 Analysis - Divergent Convergent Reasoning

 

This section comprised of questions from Verbal Reasoning, including word association, statement-assumption, Data Sufficiency and Visual Reasoning. The overall difficulty level of the section ranged from easy to moderate. The table below brings the topics, number of questions and difficulty level.

MICAT I 2018 Analysis - General Awareness

 

This section consisted of 25 questions. Last year, 22 questions were asked from this section. The difficulty level has also increased from last year. The topics from which questions were asked included business, government, politics, ad agencies, laws and acts, and logos. As many as 19 questions were on Static GK and six were on current affairs.  

 

MICAT I 2018 Analysis - Verbal Ability

 

The overall difficulty level of this section was easy to moderate. There was only one Reading Comprehension passage of easy difficulty level. Rest of the questions were on English Usage. The topic wise question details are ion the table below.

MICAT I 2018 Analysis - Quantitative Ability

 

Out of 25 questions in this section, 19 were on Quantitative Ability and six were Data Interpretation questions. According to experts, "Most of the questions were of a higher level of difficulty than last time. In fact, there was just a single question that would have qualified as a sitter. There were two sets of Data Interpretation with 3 questions each. Some students reported that they felt 1-2 questions had some errors in them." The overall difficulty level can be termed as moderate. Part 3: MICAT I Analysis 2018 - Psychometric Test

 

There were 36 questions which were divided into three sets. In the first set, there were three options for each question about a particular personality trait. Test takers had to mark the most suitable option. There were 10 questions of this set. 

 

There were around 16 questions in the second set. Candidates had to choose from a set of two arguments and rate them in accordance with their personality traits. One statement was presented on the left and another was on the right side of the screen. The six options from which students needed to mark their answer were:

  • Very Strongly agree with the statement on the right

  • Strongly agree with the statement on the right

  • Moderately agree with the statement on the right

  • Very Strongly agree with the statement on the left

  • Strongly agree with the statement on the left

  • Moderately agree with the statement on the left

 The third set consisted of 10 questions. Test takers had to rank six actions/response sentences in the given question in an order of decreasing importance.

 

MICAT - I 2018 Cutoff

 

According to IMS Learning experts, candidates clearing the Psychometricand Descriptive sections and securing about 45-47 overall score expect a call for the MICAT selection procedure. The result of MICAT - I will be declared on January 3, 2018, and the application form for MICAT - II will start from the same day. MICAT - II 2018 will be held on February 17, 2018.

when MICAT form will be out? I need to know the process of it

Hello,

MICA Ahmedabad will release MICAT I 2020 application form in online mode in September 2019 with last date being in third week of November 2019.

MICAT is conducted twice in online mode for the various programmes that are offered at the institute.

The fee for MICAT 2020 application form is Rs. 1985 for all the categories.

MICAT II 2020 application form in third week of December 2019. The end date to fill the application form will be last week of January 2020.

Will I have to do again registration for second round of dte mp MBA admission, if i already registered for first round counseling..

Hello Prachi Tiwari, if you had registered for the first round of counseling for DTE MP MBA, then there is no need to register again for the next rounds of counseling. As the candidate who are unable to get a seat in previous rounds are automatically eligible for the next rounds.

   MICAT is conducted by MICA, Ahmedabad. It is conducted twice
a year. A student can appear for both MICAT I and MICAT II, the better score of
the two will be considered. It has both subjective and objective
questions and is conducted for 2 hours 45 minutes. There are a total of 3

Hi Priyanka!    MICA Admissions Test (MICAT) is the online entrance test for MICA's flagship course Post Graduate Diploma in Management - Communications (PGDM-C). The programme focuses on Strategic Marketing and Communication.

MICAT is conducted twice in December and February. MICAT (I) 2018 was held on December 1, 2018 and MICAT (II) 2019 was held on Febraury 9, 2019. The result of MICAT I was declared on December 18, 2018 and the result of MICAT II was announced on February 19, 2019.
