MDI Gurgaon hosts leadership conclave Samvaad 2015
The Management Development Institute, Gurgaon organized its annual leadership conclave- Samvaad 2015 on October 24, at its campus. The theme of the session was ‘Emerging leaders of Innovative India’, with panelist like entrepreneurs, company heads, leadership gurus, academicians and industry stalwarts from various sectors and start-ups.
The started with a welcome speech by Prof. J. K. Jain, Chairperson, NMP & Energy Management and Prof. C.P. Shrimali, Director, MDI. It was followed by lectures related topics such as transformational leadership, team building, power of engagement, building people-centric organizations, cultural challenges for global CXOs, power of start-ups and the promise they hold for B-school students, to name a few. The first panel included eminent leaders namely Sh. Ashwani Lohani, Chairman and Managing Director at Air India, Sh. D.D. Misra, Director (HR) at ONGC, AVM Baladitya VSM, Air Vice Marshal, Indian Air Force.
Highlighting the significance of this initiative, Prof. J. K.Jain, Chairperson, NMP & Energy Management said “Developing young managers to be good leaders is the soul of NMP programme in MDI. Support of Industry’s great captains help in sowing the seeds to inculcate values of leadership in future managers”
“Transformational leadership is about Commitment, Integrity, Non-interference & Involvement of employees,” said Sh. Ashwani Lohani, CMD, Air India highlighting the change catalysed by good leadership. Guiding the participants about developing leadership attributes, Sh. D. D. Misra, Director (HR) at ONGC said “Never fear to ask for help, take responsibility and lead your team with passion.”
The second panel saw participation of leaders from the corporate industry. The panelist included Sh. Gyanesh Chaudhary, MD & CEO, Vikram Solar Pvt Limited, Ms. Neena Goel, Executive Director and Market Head, Standard Chartered, Mr. Rajiv Arora, Human Resource Leader at Mercer and Dr. V.P. Singh, Executive Director- HR & Chief Pupil at Devyani International.
Extracting the formula of growth from ‘Physics of Business Growth’, Sh. Gyanesh Chaudhary, MD & CEO, Vikram Solar Pvt Limited emphasized on the combination of Mindset + System + Process. He also spoke how clean energy is not just desirable but need of the hour too.
Speaking about Women as business leaders, Ms. Neena Goel, Executive Director and Market Head, Standard Chartered said “Work life balance, respecting value system & connecting with people are important for future leaders.”
The third panel witnessed the presence of Mr. Vikas Banga, Vice President, Snapdeal & Angel Investor, Mr. Praneeth Tammiraju, AVP Operations, PepperTap, Mr. Sameer Grover, Founder & CEO, Crownit and Mr. Prabhakar Tiwari, CMO, PayU India.
Highlighting the mushrooming era of start-ups, Mr. Vikas Banga, VP, Snapdeal & Angel Investor said “startups offer B- School graduates an opportunity to learn and take risk; the worst that can happen is really not that bad”. Taking the session ahead Mr. Praneeth Tammiraju, AVP Operations, PepperTap said “MBA is something which teaches you how to do a business so why to look out for a job after completing it. Risk appetite is what startups have to offer to B-school graduates.”
Mr. Sameer Grover, Founder & CEO, Crownit said 'Startups offer opportunities to build muscles to take decisions' whereas, Mr. Prabhakar Tiwari, CMO, PayU India, shared “Budding entrepreneurs should not spend too much time worrying that someone else will copy their ideas. Rather they should own the consumer problem so well, that the enterprise keeps moving forward without relying on the crutches of a single idea”.

what is the CAT cutoff for NMP 1 year in MDI gurgaon?
First of all, let's just look at the eligibility criteria for the NMP program:
1. 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in 10th and 12th.
2. 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in UG from a recognized University.
3. Minimum of 5 years post qualification work experience.
The cut-off for MDI goes till around 94-94 percentile for last year (2019) and for 2018 it was around 90 for the general category students. MDI also consider the GD and PI score for calculation and evaluation. Here, is the link for other details:

I think you should remember onething in your whole life, i.e fix one goal and do hard work for that goal again and again and dont compare with others by yourself but you should improve by yourself and once again all the best for your future.
