Careers360: Tell us about the company and domain in which you completed your summer placement from?
Harshad: I completed my internship as a Summer Intern for FedEx Express, an American global courier delivery services company. My team is identified as COE (Centre of Excellence), Global Pricing domain where new initiatives are proposed and implemented for betterment of existing practices and also enhancing already existing processes.
Careers360: What was your project and how did you execute it?
Harshad: I was assigned three projects out of which I was part of DIM waiver change analysis from start to end. It started from 16th April and went on till 30th June. The project was about having a new DIM divisor for the shipments. The project revolved around effects of different weight and dimensions for Shipments. It was executed in the form of an automated tool which calculates Yield Dilution for the proposed request and giving overall effect on Revenue.
Careers360: What was your initial thought process about participating in the summer placements process?
Harshad: There were no expectations as such when I participated in the summer placement process but had some pre-decided fields where I would like to apply in like Branding, Pricing or Market research. So I managed to gather as many insights from the Case Studies, professors and a book which is treated as the epitome “KOTLER”.
Careers360: How was the experience after the completion of the internship?
Harshad: The overall experience was exhilarating, getting an opportunity to learn and acquire knowledge of new technologies related to analytics, different processes followed in logistics and supply chain industry. It gave me immense business knowledge of Logistics industry and helped me develop an altogether different perception of the Logistics and Courier industry.
Careers360: How was the environment of the company, the resources, employees and work culture?
Harshad: It was above expectations. It has an amazing work life balance and allows you to take initiatives and put your opinions forward. This is the place where people listen to you intently and try to take your suggestions into consideration, never giving a feeling of being an intern. The employees are very helpful, always ready to teach new things and ready to resolve queries.
Careers360: What were the challenges during your internship?
Harshad: The biggest challenge was getting adapted to the complete different industry compared to the previous IT industry I used to work for. Then learning new processes, I would say it was fun but at the same time a challenging task to prove your skillsets in a completely different environment.
For me, learning VBA and Macros from scratch was new and thrilling task.
Careers360: What were the learnings from the project?
Harshad: I learnt new values of the company we work for. I learned new technology, new processes and most importantly, learnt to adapt in any given environment in such a short span of time. Internship teaches you a lot, and is an important subject that one must study and work hard in.
Careers360: Is it important for MBA students to do internship? What values can a student gain?
Harshad: I would surely recommend every MBA student to be part of the Internship process as this is the only platform where you get opportunity to work in real environment. Understanding the actual process which is completely different from the theoretical knowledge what we get in our academic studies. Implementing and executing the learnings is a completely different and challenging task when it comes to dealing with real time projects.
Careers360: Would you come to the company for a job? Share a memorable incident from your internship days
Harshad: Surely, without a doubt, I would join the company. It’s difficult to find a friendly working environment in today’s Business world.
Creating an automated tool and getting appreciation from the Managing Director of Pricing and applause by all other team members. It was an achievement in its own sense that I have done something which would be used by other regions for long term. Associating with such a huge global company will always be memorable.

No you cannot get into JBIMS and SIMSREE with the marks scored in MAT exam. You can get into following college:
- BIMTECH Greater Noida
- XIME Banglore
- Balaji Institute Of Modern Management (BIMM) Pune
- SIESCOMS Navi Mumbai
- christ university, banglore
- New Delhi Institute of Management (NDIM) New Delhi
my may mat composite score is 761 & 99.09 percentile .can i take addmission in top mms colleges like simsree, pumba etc
It's really good to hear that you scored 99.09 percentile in MAT but sadly from this year, The official body responsible for MMS admissions has denied to take scores of MAT and ATMA and GMAT.
Because of this decision you won't be able to get MMS in these colleges but yes you can get PGDM in the top colleges like NL Dalmia, SIES, MET etc.
For getting admission in MMS, CET registration is compulsory and you should have a valid score of CET, CAT or CMAT
I got 99.26 percentile in maha cet mba, Im from oms,can I get seat in simsree
With such a good percentile you will be able to get into Sydenham Institute of Management Studies Research and Entrepreneurship Education (SIMSREE). However you can look at other options if you want to and a good guide will be the ranking given on NIRF for Management and the link is: https://www.nirfindia.org/2019/ManagementRanking.html
Students can apply for OMS seats (18 seats, 15%) through CMAT Feb, CMAT Sept or CET (March) scores. Maharashtra students (HU, OHU) can also apply through CMAT scores for these OMS seats.
cutoff for oms through CET for simsree college??
As you asked cutoff for oms through cet for simsree college:
The MAH MBA CET cutoff for SIMSREE final 12 months become 99.8x. The previous yr, it become 99.7x.
Considering the quantity of college students who have seemed for the CET this year, I accept as true
with the cutoffs will hover in that range.
College Cutoffs Seats
SIMSREE- 99.96 9
