Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA) located in Chennai conducted its 37th Annual Convocation Day on September 23, 2018. The ceremony was graced by Dr. R. Ramaraj, Senior Advisor, Elevar Equity and parents, faculty and students of Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA). The 37th convocation also marked the auspicious occasion of the 40th year – Ruby Jubilee of LIBA.
On the auspicious occasion, 263 LIBA students consisting of 123 Full Time Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), 38 Part Time PGDM students, 1 Doctoral scholar and 101 Executive Postgraduate students including 33 students from Maveric Systems, 28 students from Ford India Pvt. Ltd. and 40 students from Royal Bank of Scotland received their certificate in various disciplines of Business Management. As a part of the convocation ceremony, a number of academic honors were handed to the meritorious students. Ms. Mannam Sreekshetraja and Mr. K Arun Karthik were awarded prizes for the best summer projects for their work on ‘Category Strategy Development for Key Commodities’ and “Goods and Services Tax – Implications for the Government and the Industry’ respectively.

Dr. R. Ramaraj, in his convocation address said, “One quality that you need to succeed is your ability, attitude and constant learning. The challenge is the attitude of continuous learning, innovation and risk taking. These qualities you should keep in mind as you step into the corporate world. Always take the first step to overcome fear and do not hesitate to experiment and make small attempts. Keep trying and keep learning, make sure you have a purpose in your work and be grounded in values and ethics, have the spirit of adventure, have fun, do well and be a role model to your juniors.”
Taking the opportunity to address the new developments at LIBA, Fr. P. Christie SJ, Director, LIBA said, “LIBA has performed tremendously well during this year and is in the process of attaining International Accreditation. We have started a joint MS programme with Fordham University, NY on Global Finance. Some of the future plans include, constructing a new building and introducing a one year Executive Programme on Healthcare Management in collaboration with CMC Vellore. LIBA has received approval from AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) to increase 60 more seats in the Full Time PGDM programme and it will be implemented in the next academic year.”

Candidates are short-listed for Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) from among the eligible candidates who have a valid entrance exam score and have applied to the programme of LIBA. The GD-PI process will be conducted at Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai After the GD-PI round, admission offers are made by LIBA to successful candidates. The final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes which includes performance in entrance exam, performance in PI round, academics, Quality of Work Experience among others.
Last date to apply for admission in LIBA is to close on January 10, 2020. To explore admission opportunity in LIBA, Chennai, the candidates need to apply for admission by using and filling up the online application form.
