Important Formulas for CAT Preparation - Proceeding further towards CAT important formulas, lets get familiar with the “Importance of CAT Formulas”. When it comes to CAT preparation basically for the Quantitative Aptitude section, the most important aspect is remembering the formulas and theorems and by knowing such key formulas one will get to know when and how to apply them. Thus, it becomes more important that a candidate will have to be well versed with the basic formulas as it is required to solve the questions with good speed and accuracy rate. The questions in the QA section are from various topics such as Profit, Loss and Discount, Number System, Time and Work, LCM and HCF, Logarithm, Averages, Set theory & Function, Probability, Permutation & Combination, Trigonometry, Mensuration, Coordinate Geometry, etc. Formulae are the basic and indispensable part to ace the quantitative section in the CAT. They may be proved to be an elixir to the section, if one does their preparation in an appropriate manner. So as one starts their CAT 2020 preparation, here is the list of important formulae that one needs to master to crack the Common Admission Test successfully.

## atleast how much percentile should i need in CAT exam to get admission in college which gives me package of mininum 7lakh..in MBA finance after completion of course.?help me plzz

Deepshikha Student Expert 9th Apr, 2020
Hey,
College does not have a big role to play when it comes to placement. It's only a gateway for you to participate in the campus selection process. Colleges like Indian Institute of Management across India, TISS etcetra provide you with great opportunities. Big companies come here to hire students. So,you should try to score above 95-96 percentile to get into such colleges, after that your hardwork and dedication will help you get a good job.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.

## Im a commerce student without maths can I clear the CAT exam .

ADIL KHAN Student Expert 8th Apr, 2020

Hii Abhinav,

Yes you for sure can but the amount of hard work you will have to put in will be more. The maths/quants part is pretty basic but is very tricky so it is tricks which you need to understand and apply.

CAT is an exam which tests your practicality and not how much you can learn by rote learning. You can start off by appearing for a mock test conducted free online and assess your performance that'll help you see and judge the areas you need improvement in and then decide if you need coaching or you can go on by yourself. You can either go for self study or Prepare with a tutor. For english prep. You can start off with Word Power Made easy, do this book twice, don't rush but read it and learn for 30-45 mins everyday. For Quants and LR-Di Arun sharma. Giving a mock a week and analyzing your strengths and weakness in terms of topics, score, percentile score and the time you are spending per question is really important.

Do take mocks religiously and you'll see how much it can affect your preparation in a positive manner.

You can reach out to us for more help.

Hope it helps

Thanks

ADIL KHAN Student Expert 7th Apr, 2020

Hii Biton,

Yes, there is a possibility for you as you belong to the SC category. But still there are  alot of factors taken into consideration while accessing your profile for giving a call for interviews bu top Business schools of India. You have a good chance provided you work on your communication skills and other skills. Also try doing internships and building your profile as these things will affect and may decide if you will be getting a call or not.

Hope it helps,

Thanks.
