Summer placements of IIM Visakhapatnam culminated in internship offers for 49 students. The students also visited IIM Bangalore to participate in summer placement process there during the first week of November 2017 resulting in 12 students securing internship offers.

 

Some of the prominent names who participated in the summer placement drive included companies from varied sectors including ICICI Lombard, HDFC Bank, Amul, Bosch, Berger Paints, T.I.M.E and Next Education.

The BFSI and IT/ITES Sector saw the maximum number of recruitment with 18 percent each followed by Manufacturing and PSU with 10 percent each and the Government Sector with eight percent of recruitment.

BFSI - Companies that took part for the summer placements from the BFSI sector included Yes Bank, ICICI Lombard, HDFC Bank, Bosch, IT/ITES companies like Intuit India & Sutherland Global Services who offered roles in General Management, Sales, Marketing, and Product Management. The roles offered by IDFC Bank included Customer Relationship Management, Sales, Underwriting and Business Development.

 

FMCG - Popular FMCG Companies for the summer placement included giants like Amul, Berger Paints, and Neway Paints who extended offers in Business Development and Operations. Leading healthcare service provider Rainbow Hospitals recruited students for Operations &Strategy role. Under the educational sector, firms like T.I.M.E and Next Education recruited students for Digital Marketing and Product Management roles.

 

Government Sector - Along with the above companies, IIM Visakhapatnam saw many Government sector organisations as well for the placement drive. The Government of Andhra Pradesh recruited interns for their prestigious summer fellowship program for the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education. NISG, incorporated by the Government of India and NASSCOM, recruited students for their e-governance initiative. Public sector undertaking HPCL recruited for their operations domain.
