IIM Shillong has released the admission policy for the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) batch of 2016-18. The candidates will be selected in 2 phases. In the first phase, candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of performance in CAT 2015 and past academic records. The final selection will be made on the basis of WSAT, PI rounds and CAT 2015 absolute scores.

The following table brings to you the category wise CAT 2015 cutoff and the past academic records.
Section A – CAT 2015 Percentile (VARC)
Section B – CAT 2015 Percentile (DI & LR)
Section C – CAT 2015 Quantitative Ability (QA)
Based on the cutoffs mentioned in the above table, IIM Shillong will obtain the number of candidates who would be considered for shortlisting.
The shortlisted candidates will be further segregated into 7 Academic Categories (AC) as per their graduation academic disciplines. From each Academic Category a certain percentage of candidates would be shortlisted for WSAT and PI.
The final shortlist would be based on the candidates’ academic background on Bachelor’s Degree and category. The candidates would then be ranked in the decreasing order of their overall CAT percentile.
Hence, the total number of shortlist will be based on the candidates’ overall performance in CAT 2015, the number of seats available, buffer for possible overlap and attendance trends in the past, etc.
Phase 2: Merit Listing for Admission Offer to PGP 2016-18 Batch
Scores of WSAT and PI will be used along with overall CAT performance for preparation of the final merit list for admission offer. WSAT and PI scores will be clubbed together. The scores of WSAT and PI and the Overall CAT Absolute Score will be normalized for preparation of the merit list.

Your CAT score is good. And your past academic result is decent too. You can fill the form for spjimr and baby iims with 93%ile. If you have work experince of minimum 2 years you can go for profile based admission. In profile based admission your past academic records, graduation score are given high prefrence for cut-offs.
Use word power made easy by Norman Lewis, Abhijit Guha Quantitative Aptitude and Arun Sharma book. Go for high school English grammar and composition by Wren and Martin. For verbal reasoning, go with Pearson by Nishit Sinha. Use Quantum CAT by Sarvesh VERMA too. If possible try to have TIME or CAREER LAUNCHER books too, they will help you a lot. And where these books are available toh they are there in the market, you can search them in the stationary book shops near you.
