Institute: Indian Institute of Management Rohtak (IIM-R)Admission criteria for IIM Rohtak are out. The approximate batch size is 150-160. IIM R will be normalizing your academic scores. The minimum cut for the PGP has been set as 85%ile.
The admission process of IIM-R consists of (a) CAT, (b) short listing for Personal Appearance (PA) process, (c) conducting the PA process composed of Personal Interview (PI) and Written Analysis (WA) as well as any other component to be decided, and (d) preparing the Final Selection List (FSL) based on CAT score, PA score and profile score including Work Experience (WE) score as assessed during the PA process, score for Past Academic Performance (PAP) and any other criterion included.
IIM Rohtak would be considering the overall as well as sectional cut-off. The CAT 2013 cut-off criteria set by IIM is as follows:
Candidates will be considered for shortlisting only when they meet the CAT cut-off percentile criteria and academic cut-offs. The academic criteria would include scores of X, XII and Under-Graduate (UG). The academic cutoff set by IIM R is:
Cut Off Marks %
After processing through the 2 cut-offs, what will be remaining are the candidates eligible for short listing. For each of these eligible candidates, the following (weighted) scores will be computed.
CAT 2013 Total*
(Candidate’s Score) x 2
CAT 2013 Q & DI*
(Candidate’s Score) x 0.70
CAT 2013 VA & LR*
(Candidate’s Score) x 0.5
* Scores scaled to 100 ** Assigned scores
Work Experience would be computed as:
Experience in Months
Less than 12
60 & above
To ensure gender diversity, female candidates will be assigned a grace score of 30. Similarly, to ensure subject diversity, candidates having a non-engineering background at graduation will be assigned a grace score of 30.
The eligible candidates are then ranked on the basis of their actual Grand Total Score and top specified number will be called for the PA process above a required percentile.
The six new IIMs coordinating the PA process 2014, viz., Kashipur, Raipur, Ranchi, Rohtak, Trichy and Udaipur, are together likely to call candidates for the PA process about 10-12 times (or more if decided so later) their total number of seats.
However, in case any of the six older IIMs (Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Indore, Kozhikode and Lucknow) are willing to share their PA scores with the six new IIMs, wherever IIM Rohtak’s (and other five new IIMs) shortlist is common with the sharing older IIMs, the common candidates will not be required to appear for PA process separately with IIM Rohtak (and five other new IIMs). The common candidates will be intimated in due course of time, on the names of older IIMs sharing PA scores with IIM Rohtak (and five other new IIMs).
Preparing Final Shortlisted Candidates (FSL)
Final Shortisting will be based on:
PI & WA
PAP and others
Minimum cut off may be applied to PA components.
